Timing Belt over 70k = mishap!
I'm gonna try and get mine done this weekend. I got my parts from Mitsubishi Parts Pro. It was like ~$131.xx for the timing belt, water pump, and t-belt tensioner. I've done the timing belt in my suby before and on a few Mazda motors so it should be pretty similar in steps taken. I will take pics of all that I do and do a write up so people aren't in the dark about the process anymore. I just don't want to pay an extra $300 for a shop to do the install. Wish me luck!
Got mine done at 58K, Mitsubishi inspected my timing belt and told me that i could go another 10-20K since belt was in really good condition but i got it done anyways.. SUBYDRIFT, if you are attempting it your self. You need Perfect Tension other wise it is going to make this annoying belt sound.. GOOD LUCK
I guess I am really pushing the limits with my timing belt. I got like 126k on my one timing belt. i really need to get it changed. I would really like to get that polished head from RRM and get it installed.
I'm coming up on 60k on the car right now so had the 60k maintenance done early at 55k - cost me about $250 to have the belt changed. The only thing is if you don't go to a dealership make sure they tighten the belt correctly - too loose and it causes some problems.
