Intake manifold and TB install problem
Intake manifold and TB install problem
I just put the manifold and TB on my car lastnight and now the idle is rough as hell plus it wants to stall out constantly and it sounds like there is a horrible valve tapping. I can't find any lines that aren't hooked up correctly and I really can't think of what could be causing it.
I unplugged the terminals, let it sit then put them back on. I don't know if it could have anything to do with it but the CEL is on from the header and the Piggyback is also in there. Just trying to get anything out there that could help figure out what the problem is.

So I looked this morning and I somehow lost one of the black insulators that goes between the injector and the maifold. Who knows where that ended up on my driveway but I'm going to have to go buy a new one anyways. I'm definately not looking forward to paying the $70 or whatever they'll charge for me to buy the full injector just for that damn 2cent piece.
I got the last 2 seals from the local dealer for around $1.50 each. I'll have some pictures once I get it all running right but it won't be anything special to see cause I got the manifold unpainted to it all looks stock under the hood.
First I must say that these past few days have sucked. All thats been on my mind is WTF was wrong!
Ok so after check all of the lines numerous times over the past few days I figured it couldn't be them. Lastnight around 11:30 I thought it could've been something with the piggyback so I figured what the hell and took that off. The car ran even worse with it off. So today I went out there and just took it all off, TB+IM+ and all the other junk. When I got down to taking the bolts and nuts off that attach the manifold to the head I found that there were 2 that somehow didn't have bolts in them at all and after looking at the gasket I could see that there was something leaking into the closest port. It was the 2 that I drew arrows to on the attached picture. The one was hidden by the TB bracket so thats probably how I missed it.
I feel a bit stupid for not noticing that we didn't put those in but I did have 2 mechanics working with me so I think they should feel even worse. I still need to get the piggyback in there and then I'm going to go have some fun and see how it goes.
