Crankshaft Pulley

Piece of Cake
took ten min if that although my man interupted me to take care of another car... I noticed a huge difference even after i placed the old pulley in the box. that thing is too heavy. Thanx RRM!

how do you switch out the pulleys, can anyone give instructions with pics if possible, cuz I have no idea how to do it, and I have the pulley lying round in my room, and ****

You do need a crankshaft pulley puller. W/o it, you'll never get the crankshaft pulley off . . . works like a steering wheel puller.

^That was kinda a given on that. But you never knew who does have one and doesn't have an impact tool. My father had a compressor, and I never saw one in the garage!

No, you dont need a pulley puller. It slides right off once you remove that bolt.

It's only easy sliding off after the first time you have taken off the crankshaft pulley (like an eye popping out of a socket, once out, you have a better of it popping out again later down the road). I have worked on 3 different motors, and I had always had to go this route.

I've got one of these ordered and I think I'm going to have to take the car to the shop anyhow for the timing belt (I'm at 89K miles, might be time). I have no problem doing it myself, I just can't get the damn crank pulley to hold still while I use my impact gun. Any tips on that? And I do have a puller.
