Overused but can find info on OZ exhaust Mani

Alright short and simple...I have a greddy catback, and a RRM CAI on my 03 OZ. all else is stock and I am looking to up the horses a little without having to build. I was thinking Intake and Exhaust manifold so now i put the question to all of you. What do you think will i get much of a punch out of an exhaust manifold and intake manifold upgrade? and if so what do you recommend...4 to 1, or 4 to 2 to1? Thanks!!

scratch both idea. A piggyback will cost you the same and deliver more benefits.

Did someone say that the G93 IM was overrated? Thought I read that somewhere. Then if not that, then what's left? Port the OE ?

No, you won't get much punch. Honestly, the mods you're looking at are going to cost a lot of money and make like 2 more HP.

If you want to do it on the cheap, remove the stock exhaust manifold and knock the catalytic converter out.
You can get a ported intake manifold or a 4G93 IM, but you won't see much out of that.

Yeah the piggyback that RRM sells is a great product...around 400 bucks
It adjusted the air/fuel ratio on the car, makes it run a little leaner, but you have to pump in at least 89 octane gas to compensate for the leaner conditions.
It's just an overall good mod to have even if your not into modding cars. It really helps squeeze a little extra juice on our already slow lancers.
For example. when i'm in 5th gear doing around 80mph on the freeway at 3100 rpm. I no longer have to downshift to 4th if i wanna accelerate, i just step on the gas and i go faster. And My gas mileage is about the same

so I dont get that though...I have talked to other people that have done the header/IM swap and said they got 20 to 30 extra horses...does that just depend on the car or what?

they are full of ****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no header and IM swap will give you 20-30 hp. that is just bull****...MAYBE...just MAYBE on a more mod friendly car such as the evo.......simple bolt ons can wield 20 hp.......but that's a big MAYBE and after a nice tune. but our cars...there is no such thing. The PB gains around 10-15% HP of what you already have, so figure you add that to a stock lancer with a crank HP of 120....you just added a whopping 12 to 14 hp.

does they people have so called proof of his big HP gain? of course they must have a dyno sheet somewhere to back that up , because they knew exactly what they gained before the swap. Just letting you know....dont let those guys get your hopes up....search the forums, and you'll find exactly what you need to do to your car to gain BIG HP..........and the only way to go is FI

Yeah I figured they were full of it, but i had to get the oppinion of people with the same car. Thanks and I know FI is the way to go but i dont have the denero to go that far right now. So i figured id take it up to that barrier and then wait. So youa ll suggest piggyback instead of the header, downpipe, and IM. Thanks for all the help!!

Yeah, header and IM will make 20-30 whp on certain cars. I could easily see getting that on my Camaro. But on a little 4 cylinder car, you gotta do the big stuff to see power.

Honestly, the piggyback will be your best friend. It's the best single modification you can do to make power AND it will give you better gas mileage. You can't beat that with a stick.

Were those guys discussing an F/I vehicle? Cuz that'd be more realistic!

The biggest gain I got on my 03 OZ was was a test pipe. Had the Greddy catback CAI and RRM Piggyback also. Still got smoked by a PT Cruiser. Go Nitrous, it's your only chance. Get a Pro install, and then just use it when you need it. 50-75 shot would be a good kick in the pants and still be relatively safe.
