I just installed my pulley today, and I do have to say, anyone who has the money, and the time to install it (15-20 minutes lol) should definitely buy the RRM Pulley. You can really tell the difference in 1st gear, and 3rd gear really picks up some speed. It's a notable difference, so GOOD JOB RRM .

I also installed my RRM Rear Strut Bar, and I must say, my trunk looks really sexy with that add on. I'll post pics either later today or tomorrow. It's to hot right now to be stand outside lol.

Question

Question: In one of the instructions that someone posted it said to dab the screw with oil before you bolt on the new pulley... I didnt do this when I installed mine. Is this bad???

there probably is a specific tourge that should be but if you just impact the **** out of it im sure it will be fine... i havent actually looked but i am geussin the tensioner is an automatic tensoin so when you put your wrench on the nut you are not actually loosing the nut just moving the tensioner to release the tensioner of the belt and one the belt is off you can let go of the bolt and it will spring back to where it was...you will see what i am talkin about once you get under the car look at it...i woudnt recommend putting the crank pully on by hand with out a tourque wrench

thanks 08icelancer!

I figured it was like that but I didn't think u had to hold the bolt. I thought you would turn it clockwise to get rid of tension then turn it back counter clockwise to put tension back on.
also ROCK I think you have probably answered this before but is there a reason you only did the crank pully and not a P/S and ALT one?

Nope, you'll be fine. It's just something extra you can do.

Those of you who have the pulley or RRM. What kinda of hp gains are you getting? Unorthodox Racing says they get 8hp-16hp gains with theirs. Thats a pretyy big gain. Is this what I can expect when I get mine? Once i pay off my tickets of course

The largest gains I have ever seen to the wheels with a pulley (undrive) was 5 whp. Most average about 3.

you MIGHT MIGHT see those gains in the lower rpms, but peak .. I would be suprised to see more then 5hp on an N/A engine.. some s/c cars you will see way more.. but.. in that case your not only doing a light weight pulley .. if it's an underdrive too you you also are doing the same as changing the s/c pulley = more boost

just a lightweight pulley (remeber RRM's isn't an underdrive) 5hp peak is great. you'll as said already see more in the lower rpms and your throttle response .. speed your engine climbs in revs .. then peak hp gains.

Yeah, I figured 8-16 was very high for a pulley. Just thought I would ask the pros.

How difficult was the install. Do I need an impact wrench to install it CORRECTLY.

Install was fairly easy actually. And yeah, I would recommend an Impact gun, or you will be there for a while trying to pry it off. Didn't take more then 15 minutes to install.
