91 is premium gas and I am pretty sure you can buy it at any gas station. If you put premium in your car it will slightly advance the timing(MIVEC) giving you more HP. Its not like I said go put Turbo blue (98 oct racing fuel) just some good Premium.

Is there a specific torque, or can you just give er with the impact gun until its tight?
Also, the splash guard clips, are they a PITA. My last car, i couldnt pull them out without breaking them plastic pieces of ****.

I used a torque bar on the pulley but what I was told is that you can just zip it down with the impact. And the clips are not bad just be easy on them I didnt break any of them. All in all it was these easiest pulley swap I have ever done

The only way you are going to advance your timing is if your car was pulling timing on the 87, and the only way your ECU is going to do that is if you start knocking. SO basically what I am saying is that you are wasting your money on 91 b/c the car was designed to operate on 87, and putting higher octane in is not going to increase the performance.

in SC we have 93. But yeah if you put higher octane gas in your car it wil burn slower, because its much dryer than 87...

The pulley is a piece of art. I would love to have time to watch one get made. It seems really interesting and amazing.

Higher octane does burn slower, and gives protection against preingition (knock). You don't get more hp out of higher octane. However once you start adding cold air intakes, headers, free flowing exhausts then you are getting more air into the cylinders, The computer should adjusts by adding more fuel. This increases cylinder pressure, and might require higher octane. I imagine the piggy backs will probably require a higher octane to take advantage of the re-tune.

If you are running mostly stock you are wasting money buying anything other than the recommended octane. I think you just need to by quality gas with decent detergents in it. I personally like techron. Make sure you don't use old stinky gas.

SO Like I said since I do have Intake and exhaust and by using higher octane all together = more HP and since the MIVEC itself advances timing the statement comes back as true, Car and driver did a test on the 2006 SI and stated that by using higher octane it did in fact slightly advance the the timing because the car had VVT(V-TEC). And the piggy will most likely require a higher octane. Anyways back on the subject the RRM pulley is working great and I hope to add the piggy to the line up very soon. All of the RA guys have been talking about the RRM pulley+piggy combo being the next best thing to a turbo as far as bolt on mods go. If anybody has any questions about the install of the pulley fill free to shoot me a PM and i cant wait to see what new products RRM comes out with in the next few months.

Whelp, Just got my pulley installed and I've got to say I like it! Response time is much quicker. Only took me about 30 mins to get it installed; but thats only cause I'm a complete noob when it comes to cars. Is a great mod and I'd recomend it to anyone. Good job RRM!

You are only going to advance the timing in your car using 91 because you will be getting an incomplete burn. The O2 sensor will see this and try and compensate by advancing the timing/chaning the injector pulse width, but this will still be within the limitation of the factory settings. You could actually lose hp and also degrade your emissions equipment at a faster rate by using a higher octane fuel. Also the argument about the intake and the exhaust is ludicrous. The car will compensate for the increased air with increased fuel. That is why the car has a MAFS. From a max power standpoint, you want to use the fastest burning fuel that will not cause knock.

if you don't have a impact wrench you can still use a breaker bar and a hammer to simulate the effect of the impact wrench. I would not recommend using the hammer with just a ratchet though b/c you could break the ratcheting mechanism.
