Post would it be wise...

Would it be wise to reset your computer, after putting an after market intake in??? I was told that It was good to do so, letting the computer refigure the setting with the air and gas, or somthing like that....

Not sure about that, but it would make sense. Can you just pull the possitive battery cable and reset it?

Your ECU should be fine without it. Most of 'em are adaptive and they should be able to recalibrate for the greater air charge from the intake, and reformulating the air/fuel mix.

Doesn't need to relearn. Reads MAF anyways! It will compensate!

I don't have a lancer, but..

I've added spark plugs, wires, intake and exhaust in the past 15,000 miles. Every time, I have reset my ECU. I know your computer will EVENTUALLY learn the change, but doing a proper ecu reset will cause the computer less time to learn your new mod.

If tuning cars was as simple as overclocking a computer, everyone on 4 wheels would be doing it.
