The 4G69 is also in the ralliart and no it does not have exchangeable parts with the 4G94. What you're thinking of is the 4G64 out of the older eclipses and the 4G63. A lot of 4G63 owners use the 4G64 block as part of a stroker kit.

I understand that much. I guess I'm just saying that my personal opinion is that it isn't "better enough" to justify the time/labor/money for the swap. But that's just me.

^Agree with Doug, it's a lot of work for a relatively small gain.

I didnt do it personally.... from the guy on the Mirage board, he claims he did it in a 3 day weekend (entirely possible if you have all the parts) and there are minor tihngs that you have to upgrade / cannot use (like passenger mount, fuel pump, struts / springs e tc). He used the 6A13TT.

THe other guy who did it whose car I posted, Danny, he (obviously not stateside) had the 6A10 in his car originally, so dropping the 6A12 MIVEC was much easier since he could reuse most of the parts (mounts etc).

Of course with both swaps, you have to be friendly with wiring. Everything fits, per se, and lined up well. Looks like a tight fit on both of the cars but hey a tight fit is a fit.

This is the Mirager who swapped the TT in his car.

And the reason why I think swaps are not as daunting as people make them out to be is because I am knee deep in one myself. It has not been "hard" per se, but my priorities right now are school then work then car so I hardly have time to work on it. But this is my little project here.

I have a question for the OP... what do you really wanna do? What is your goal for your car? Seriously... ask yourself these questions first. Justify this engine swap FOR YOURSELF... because a lot of people on these forums will be the first to shoot you down... something I've noticed for a while on here.

Now... back on topic. If you really want to do a swap on your Lancer, please, PLEASE start researching! That's the first thing I would do. I know some people have already done engine swaps on their Lancers... if you can, get in contact with these people. It would be preferable if you got in contact with the ones that at least actually participated in the swap rather than the ones that just paid a shop to do it... the ones that actually got their hands dirty with the swap will most likely give you the most USEFUL information, instead of regurgitating information that was fed to them that they don't even understand themselves. I have been informed by a close friend of mine a while ago that I should start reading up on the Mirageforums if I really wanted to learn something... perhaps you should start there.

I mentioned this before... you should start visually inspecting your Lancer and compare it to the donor car. I'm not telling you to just look at it... get familiarized with both cars. Don't just stop at the engine itself... go further! Examine the frame/subframe, engine mount locations/types, overall dimensions of both engine bays, ECU harnesses, axle length/type, etc.

Why am I emphasizing this? Because I would like to see someone actually man up and pull off an engine swap on his/her Lancer, despite how much everyone says that it can't be done without plenty of hassles, downtime, dinero... if at all. So if you're reading this, OP... if you really want to do it... DO IT! And do this community a favor by providing a write-up!

KillahB... are you doing the FWD setup or are you going all the way with AWD? Good job nonetheless...

FWD for now ... .too poor (and too much customization) for the AWD setup ...
