Has anyone used metal polish on their header?

I'm thinking about getting some Mother's for my Kami header.

Again on my Red Mirage I had the header on there from sometime in 2000 to 2005 when I sold it and it never got "dull" persay. It still had that polished stainless steel look to it. Last time I saw it, July of this year, it still had the same look

Your lucky on your mirage. On my mirage, it turn that purple color in about a day or so. In a month it looked really bad.

My advice... douse the thing in oil and make it uniform blue/purple!

So I guess the key to avoid this is to use gloves during the install... Then again, uniform burple would look kinda cool/titanium like

coat it REALLY thin with oil to give it that mixed blue/purple color... That would be badass.
