Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhaust for 08 lancer

The price they have on their website is $693.81
so i will say the injen catback exhaust will between $650-$750

which is way outta my budget.i d rather choose a axleback.

that is like way to damn expensive for an exhaust. almost $700? for a couple more hundred, you'd be better off buying a turbo lmao

Retail price is never what you actually pay.

H&R calls the retail on their new 08 springs roughly $300. Vendors are selling them for about $200 as I recall.

but if i recall right, wasn't there a thread a few months back arguing that the 08's already came with not only one, but 2 cat's? i may be wrong, and correct me if i am wrong, but i think that it was proven to be true.

but see, there's a difference of $100, so if the exhaust let's say does cost $650, you'd still be paying about $500. IMO, for that price, it'd be better off just buying an axle back and doing your own custom work to the exhaust no?

You're assuming. Stop that.
Vendors don't just automatically chop $100 off the retail price of an item. It's more like a percentage. Or they just charge what's actually reasonable.

Quick example:

GReddy Evo2 catback for 2002-2003 Lancer
Retail price - $630
A quick web search finds them as cheap as $400.

Well, it's not that I'm assuming, it's just what I think. You did correct me on what I thought, and yes you are right. Some vendors do sell for cheaper then actual value for them, but you got to understand also, is that we're driving an 08, which means little after market for us. So vendors will chop off the value, but not by alot. There's people who would probably pay that much for an exhaust, I'm not one of them though. Once again, I'm just stating my opinion. I guess it's just that I'm not used to seeing such high priced exhausts, unless they're made for racing/sport packages etc.
