Cool More HP!

Hey guys,

First of all, I've been on here for a couple of weeks and I really appreciate the input I'm getting from everyone. I recently bought the RRM parts listed below and love the performance increase. However, I'm trying to do everything I can to increase performance on my car. Is there anything else you guys would suggest I can do? (short of buying a turbo--bit too rich for my blood right now) Thanks again.

First of all, could you dyno the car so you/we can see where your HP/TQ levels are . And then once you add anything else, you'll see what they are doing for your car.

I know

I'm actually seriously considering the Xtremeboost turbo. I'm waiting to see how the numbers look.

well since your looking at a turbo you might just want to wait for that.

otherwise a ligntened flywheel would be a good thing to get next since they are available and will give a good increase to acceleration. Might want to look at intake manifold options too. Not sure how the evo unit would fit and perform but it might be a place to start looking at least. Also probably want to look into some decent engine management options... none of that no-brander crap.. get a trusted brand with something as important as engine management. Once you have the electrics sorted out then you can go start playing with stuff like getting some cams made up.

But yeah... most of that is only going to apply if your staying N/A. If your going turbo you'd want to wait till you have it before you worry about any of that sort of stuff.

^ thanks for the input. I'm almost certain i will be getting the turbo. Now i have to sneak it past the misses. I wonder if she'll notice the difference if I just don't tell her I got it....

If you don't decide to go turbo, I suggest you look into the evo X or just evo forums because they are having the WORKS dyno tune reflash in the area with a local shop in SoCal(Not only for evos, but for all lancers). Don't remember what thread it was but shouldn't be hard to find. With the mods you have they can probably maximize the horsepower from those mods while adding another 17 whp and 13ftlb torque.

Go turbo. N/A is fun, but it's never going to make the Lancer powerful. Boost is a proven power-adder. Do what makes sense.

if you get the WORKS flash, you'll want to ditch the piggy... It's an either or type of upgrade; not a both will make it better type thing, because the reflash will optimize the ECU fuel ratio mappings a lot better than the piggy... the piggy attempts to fool the STOCK ECU into providing more or less fuel than what was originally programmed. Adding a piggy to a reflash would undo all the work you paid for to have the stock ECU optimized, and potentially put the car into really bad fuel mixture ratios (e.g. make the car run so lean that it could blow the engine).
