Kamikaze Vs. RRM

Hey guys, Not sure if everyone saw my Group Buy going on in the Classifieds, but I wanted to discuss it all here to keep the GB thread clean. What do you all think is the better deal? I know RRM is top quality and is great for anyone who will eventually be going turbo.... But the Kamikaze is Over $125 cheaper with shipping, and includes the Mil Eliminator and DOWNPIPE! Feel free to post up comment going either way, and please be sure to vote.

RRM = $369 + shipping w/o Downpipe and Mil Eliminator
Kamikaze = $260 shipped w/ Downpipe and Mil Eliminator

If you are a Member of TEAMSLAM - You will get 10% off the group buy!

Let the debate begin...

I got the RRM Header and Rob has no plans to make a downpipe.

Imma get the Kamikaze header and downpipe and then I'll post the difference here and on TS.

Hope ROCK has the time to reply to this thread...

Hey JWERNER, I saw your Group Buy for the Kamikaze headers and I was thinking about it. So I did a little digging in some old forums and this is what I found...

Kamikaze is not a real helpful company if you run into issues. About 2 hours ago, got off phone with them. My downpipes flex area is leaking like crazy. Exhaust is hardly even coming out of rear of car. The guys says they will only take back, if I send it to them. Was not willing to even help me out even though I recently moved across US and factory exhaust is very far away, plus my lancer is now a daily driver. I even offered to pay shipping right now for a new one. No go. So, apparently I rent a car for 3 to 4 days, so they can determine their downpipe failed and they will give me a new one, or repair old one. Thanks Kamikaze. Not. Just my opinion. I'll never buy from them again.
Damn scary review...I mean i don't mean to diss, just want to make sure these headers are worth it and if they fixed this problem i.e. new downpipe ???

Nice. BTW, I have no issue with the RRM header. Rob was super nice to save this unit for me. IT looks and performs great. Need a downpipe tho. Stinky's spoolin' so there are no backpressure issues. Not sure if the Kamikaze downpipe with fit from the RRM header to my RRM testpipe. Not willing to gamble on that one, so I'll just replace the whole unit.

Rob told me a while back that it's not worth replacing the downpipe, according to him , the OEM down pipe is fine and there are no gains from replacing the down pipe.

Also, if you are a TEAMSLAM member, you are saving 10% = $26!!

$260 - $26 = $234!!! Now that is a GOOD DEAL!

after putting my USED kamikaze header on, i noticed a loud noise in the higher RPMs. i brought it to meineke to re-hang my muffler, and the tech told me the flexpipe was leaking. he replaced it for 100 bux...which still makes it cheaper and more complete than the RRM header. i do agree with everyone that the RRM header is better if you are planning on going with the RRM turbo kit in the future, but the no-downpipe is too much for me to see past. also, i am going to go turbo and i have talked to someone and they said it'll be easy to make a turbo manifold out of the kamikaze header instead of using an up-pipe. sorry for the long post, just my thoughts.
