RRM Exhaust ? Warranty??
RRM Exhaust ? Warranty??
Yeah i just saved up enough bills to get an RRM exhaust...most of you say its pretty good and i like how you guys describe the sound...anyways...I was wonder if i do put it on my car will it void my warranty...or is my warranty ok with the new exhaust???
Thanks alot man the info was greatly appreciated...after that i have grown alittle older, alittle wiser...and now i can go ahead with my exhaust installation thank you for helping me out... much appreciated
My first car was a 1998 Ford ZX2... after about 3 months, I started modding...
Real noticable mods like intakes and cat-back exhaust...
In a few months, ford sent me a recall notice, somthing about the ECU...
Upon arriving at the service bay at the Ford dealership, three of the guys were asking me tech questions about my mods... Not so much interrigation, rather, couriosity... They wanted to know what kind of hp gains I was noticing, MPG changes... Regular gear-head stuff... The recall was repaired, no warranty issues arose, nothing... I've had 3 warranty recalls on that car, never once have my mods been an issue... One thing I will say however... Modifications to the electical system (ECU, sensors, etc..) will void your warranty, but only on the affect system... If I had installed a SuperChip, that would have voided the warranty on the electical system, and I would have to pay out of pocket for any recalls on any future recalls regarding to that system...
Basically, use common sense...
An aftermarket intake CAN'T void your entire warranty, just ask the guys at K&N
but If you're adding Nitrous, and your fry your engine, don't expect to be covered.
