Cylinder Misfire Help

I drive a 02 Oz Rally Lancer, 5spd, about a month ago the check engine came on, it drove fine for awhile then developed an engine stutter in lower rpm's. I ran a diagnostic on it and it read misfire in my 2nd cylinder, I changed all the plugs and for about a week it ran good with minimum stutter and now its getting worse and worse. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

maybe the wire is bad? Check the resistance on them to make sure.
Also could be your coilpack is broken. Check resistance on that too.

Like he said, check wires. Around 1000 ohms can be expected per wire. Also listen to ensure the injector is working (screwdriver handle against ear, metal end against injector body). If both of those check out ok, replace the coil.

One more question: How did the #2 plug look when you took it out?

the 2 plug was a bit burnt at the tip when I initially took it out, I looked at the coil pack on cylinder two today and the bottom on the stem was also burnt a bit, looks like I might just have to replace that? $150 at autozone anywhere I can find it cheaper?

All fixed thanks for the help guys, I switched the coil pack from my 2nd to 4th cylinder and ran a diag and it read misfire in 4 so I knew it was the pack the that was bad, I found a replacement for $96 at a different autozone and picked it up, shes purring like a japanese kitten

Glad to hear that your car is running good now, my car threw the P0300 code (random/multiple cylinder misfire) about a week ago got new spark plugs and it went away but i can still feel it misfire a little bit at idle so im going to be doing cables too

The wires on our cars rarely go bad. It's probably a coil. Best bet is rockauto.com
