Bogging - Mivec, SRI, Or Me Trippin?

aight, so 2nd gear pulls...startin around 2,000rpm...about 30-40% throttle held constant... up thru 3500rpm it feels like the car is suffocating, then when it hits 3500 and on thru 4000rpm i feel it start opening up and on past 4000 it pulls like it should..remember im holding 30-40% CONSTANT thru to redline...this happens in first too

*My SRI is all installed properly, MAF right direction..all seals tight
*When does the MIVEC kick in?
*Some ozzie dude on 9g was talkin bout takin car in to have dealer adjust ECU cuz MAF is gettin more air and ECU isnt adjustin properly (concerning boggin on SRI)
* Ive had the SRI on for a few thousand miles

AM I JUS TRIPPIN OR WHAT

ive noticed this a little bit aswell. i find when im in second n put my foot down it takes a while for it to kick in. i was thinking it was something to do with the throttle. coz sometimes when i put my foot down its sluggish, then other times its really responsive. i dont know whats going on? and ive had mine on for about 500kms

i PM'd Rock, hopefully hear word soon, i was out drivin tonite and when im gunnin, keepin above 3500 i have no problem..i can hear it suckin in hella air which i thinks badass lol..made a lil adjustment with the plastic airdamn..took off the section that dips down towards the filter to give it some more space..its louder.. its funny tho like round 4000 its take a huge gulp n sounds like its garglin for a sec =D

our litte engines have ZERO torque. Zero at low rpms

i've gone though 2 short-rams and 1 cold-air, the bog is the same. and at the same point too

the power for this car is created just a tad before 3k. especially going uphill or with friends in the car.

To be blunt even my Road-Race header did not elminate the bog of this car below 2 1/2K RPM's. The header just helped be get through the bog quicker.

And i've driven other lancers now, the bog is still there in it's stock form.

so nothing that an ECU reprogram (reset) cant fix? im not talkin a works flash or rrm piggy

headers..4-2-1 should help, ur lucky ur 2.0L, its not available for 2.4L

I have the same problem. The car feels dead under 2.5k rpm and looks like it finds torque out of nowhere above that. It's just the way this engine is.

yup. it's even two different sounds too.

one's a dead kinda sluggish drone, then all of sudden as the needle climbs it starts to actually sound like an engine. hah
