Why? The STI is a different car than the WRX. Do Evo owners feel pissed that a Ralliart with a flash can keep up in a straight line?

comparing the STi to a WRX now?

So what was the result of the Lancer vs Civic Si? Hopefully the only thing that is keeping you from deciding is the styling and the slight increase in price of the Si. Performance, fit & finish, quality all goes to the Si. Looks and the available options and what you want to end up paying for either car is up to you.

Was going turbo'd but not sure i just spent around 3k on paint and body .
The car has a weight reduction , motor mounts( Front , Back) Intake , Throttle body , 4g93 mani (Ported) Catback , header/downpipe , Udp , tuned .

08-09 Si are slow ! They have ****ty top end . I can also beat my other 08 Lancer badly .(Intake /Exhaust/ Pulley )

They struggle on our autox tracks too. Too heavy, too many tight turns so vtec does not always kick in, or if it does you are slowing for turns. Drivers usually leave the car in 1st gear for the whole run just to keep the car in vtec. I have beaten a couple of preludes and a brand new civic si, but sooner or later they will figure out whatever the s2000 guys are doing and then we will see for sure. The civic si is a nice, reliable, car with pretty good power and okay suspension, but if you are going to campain for a the si b/c you want the high end hp, pony up for an RX8 (since we've thrown sti's and other cars in the hat). Wey better suspension, more power and they run about 25k-28k right now. The local RX8's are smoking everybody in street tire class right now.

I call absolute BS on that one. Unless you've stripped out several hundred pounds, there's no way a 120 HP car with those mods could seriously beat a 190 HP car that can rev to what, 8 grand? Saying a Civic has no top end makes no sense, all they have is top end.

Of course they do but we're talking about a car that originally came with 120 HP beating a car that was designed for performance that has 197 HP from the factory along with an LSD and a 6-speed transmission. Gearing is likely on the Civic's side as is power.
A Civic SI weighs either 2886 lbs or 2945 lbs depending on whether it's a coupe or a sedan.
A Lancer weighs ~2692 (ES will weigh slightly less).
If we do a bit of math, every 1 HP in a Civic has to move 14.9 lbs. By contrast, every 1 HP in a Lancer has to move 22.4 lbs. That's a 7 lb per HP difference. What weight loss mods have you done? It's going to take a lot of weight loss or power to make up that difference. To match the Civic's power to weight ratio, you would need close to 180 HP. Do you honestly think you gained 60 HP with bolt-ons and a tune?
