A muffler won't cause damage, if you want loud, go cheap.

Its not suggesting that backpressure is good. It's saying that when you remove backpressure from your exhaust, you may need to tune cam timing to compensate, so that you don't have over-scavenging (that would be having TOO efficient an exhaust for the amount of valve overlap). Further enforcing that no backpressure is good.

"In fact, the use of Flowmaster systems (collectors, Y-pipes, etc.) can provide backpressure levels below that of open exhaust system. In that context, the selection of other engine components (in particular camshafts) should be viewed in this light. And while additional tuning is generally required, such steps can initially be approached as if the exhaust system was unrestricted."

haha i know a muffler wont, but im saying just in general in the future like pistons, rods, etc. and I would get HKS because its a very good product.

There are many other sites saying that a bit of backpressure is good to maintain street use. For a race car, I completely agree, open the exhaust as much as possible but you don't want to stay at 5000 RPM the whole time, a bit of backpressure is good.

Just because they aren't necessarily defending "your" freedom in Iraq, doesn't mean you aren't going to need them to save your a** in the future. I am by far no patriot but I would never insult a woman who's husband is at war.

As amby said... Evo's that sound loud and ricey have 300whp+ to back it up. You running around with "the absolute loudest muffler" is going to sound ricey and you won't have 300hp to back up your sound. So by definition you will be a ricer.

Don't go cheap and get the $20 muffler... Get the HKS or a decent muffler. If you go the cheap route than you aren't going to get the sound you want... It's going to sound like a fart cannon. 2.5" piping with a universal high flow cat and a HKS muffler and you'll have an extremely nice sound with no BRRRAAAANNNGGGHHH farting in a can effect.

well i may be annoying her, but she is also annoying me. so does that mean she owes me an apology? im sorry to say, but everyone who is married to someone that is in Iraq thinks they can always boss people around and make everyone listen to them. i am really sorry she has to go through her husband being gone, im sure if i was in her position i would hate it. we have some family friends whose dad went to Iraq for a while and we were really hoping for him to come back and we were sorry for his family, but they didnt feel all high and mighty and expecting people to feel sorry for them and cater to their every whim.

and I never insulted her, i just said i wanted to be loud.

im sorry, call me arrogant, rude, w/e but im a realist and believe in equal rights.....not special people having special privileges over others.

and can we please get back on topic??

btw, i just looked back at her post and she said her husband MIGHT go to Iraq. it also doesnt even make sense how she worded a lot of it, like the last sentence for example..."It also pisses me off that my husband might go to Iraq and my kids might not have a father so that people like you like to 'do whatever i want.' " i dont get what shes trying to say.

*sigh.... Alright let me break this down for you then, since you have no comprehensive skills.

"It also pisses me off that my husband might go to Iraq and my kids might not have a father so that people like you like to 'do whatever i want.' "

"It also pisses me off that my husband might go to Iraq (Depending if his number comes up for a tour, which is likely to happen) and my kids might not have a father (if anything is to happen to him while his tour in Iraq) so that people like you like to 'do whatever i want.'(people like you who have this arrogant do whatever I want and don't care how my actions effect others around me attitude)" sorry your school system has failed you. It is actually quiet clear what she was trying to say.

Stop stereotyping people with spouses in the military... How many women do you know that have spouses in Iraq? Do you seriously have such a bruised ego that you are going to sit here and say that all women with husbands over seas are bossy just because they can pull that card and that entitles you to act out against society with ricer-mentality? You may be 19 but you are no young man... Act your damn age and stop with this whole adolescent attitude because you are not in High School anymore.

Go back and read your comments to others, if you were actually respectful to the people that came in here to give you advise than no one here would have gotten on your a**. I have given you several mufflers and ideas as well as corrected one of your mistakes and you continue to be an arrogant little ***** to everyone. I feel sorry for your local lancer club... I am just glad we don't have any Lancers here in Vegas with your mentality.

Also realists aren't people who believe in equal rights... A realist is a person who tends to view or represent things as they really are. Stereotypes aren't something realists believe in since stereotypes don't represent things as they really are...

the way she wrote it...she said it pisses me off that my husband might go to iraq so that people like you like to 'do whatever i want.' that doesnt make sense. no one has been respectful to me, actually, except for a select few. idk if you have noticed, but when you gave me ideas for mufflers, i THANKED you and moved on. same with everyone else who actually gave worthwhile input. also, there is no local lancer club here. i didnt mean to say realist, i couldnt think of a better word. i know what a realist is, and i meant that really, everyone should have equal rights and be able to do what they want. if they get in trouble (for a sound violation, for example), its their problem and no one elses and people should stop making it their problem.

Your question holds no merit, so why would people answer it if your attitude sucks?

Because your displaying the typical lowlife douche syndrome. **** everyone esle I do what I want when I want. It doesn't work like that. You need to give respect in order to get it.

There are only 2 things that can happen here, either keep your car civil and quiet OR make it loud and annoying. It is a stupid little 4 cyl. No 4 cyl motor sounds good or anything like a v8.

Well played.

People who put loud, stupid mufflers on there car are the same type who drive 110 on the freeway racing the home boy crew with a hatch civic who thinks they are Mario Anderetti weaving in and out of traffic putting all the other people on the road in danger. Tell me I am wrong?

You are the same person if you did cause an accident you would run away and hope grand mama would rescue you. Your father being not in your life is completely obvious with your gimmie an answer attitude. if you want something bad enough, you go and buy it. If it is not what you want, take it off, sell it to the closest Geo Metro owner and by the next muffler that is louder, don't expect people to just spoon feed you.

besides, I see you do not want to buy any expensive product, so Ebay is you friend. Support China and all the craptastic product you can find there

Even tho I think this is the dumbest thread ever, I would recommend the Tsudo. It was on my Evo when I bought it and its stupid loud. My wife can hear me comming home from a block away. My Evo is a garage queen, but when she comes out everybody knows it.
