As I said, unless you're running big boos, catless doesn't offer a performance increase.

 

I think its safe to say he doesn't care about the performance gain too much, He just wants a loud, nice sounding exhaust.

i think hks exhausts are the best even if they are pricey. quality of parts always win out over the quatity of parts you have on your car. I also just wanted to ask you how you would feel if everyone else in the world was as inconsiderate as you?what if everyone that parked next to you wasn't being considerate enough to make sure they don't bash your car with their door?what if everyone else woke you up when u were trying to sleep every night?What if everyone that rides in your car or looks at it a the drag strip or in a car show is inconsiderate? Seriously, what goes around comes around. I personally like people to be considerate of me and my things so I'm considerate of other people and their things.It also pisses me off that my husband might go to Iraq and my kids might not have a father so that people like you like to "do whatever i want."

 

more over the comment Amby made, current testing out of japan with a few friend have already shown a loss in power not a gain if you remove the cat since the back pressure is affected. Unless you find an alternative design piping to counter act the changes you will not reach your exhaust power potential.

Straight thru is not the way to go. Exhaust sound can be greatly manipulated just with the exhaust muffler alone. Borla, magnaflow, flow master etc.... all have great sound exhaust and you may not have to compromise performance to get it.

Getting back to exhaust sound, this sound clip might prove useful for getting an idea oh how load some exhausts are. its a 4 way shootout between Stock, EVOSOUL Custom, Greddy Version1, and WORK Exhaust. More sound clips are in the works.

honestly, people like you make me WANT to be inconsiderate on purpose. i dont bash peoples doors in parking lots, thats stupid, although I have set off a few car alarms with my recent sound system. also, i HAVE been woken up many times by loud systems, loud exhaust, speeding cars, etc. and what does Iraq have to do with a loud exhaust??? go rethink what you said and know that i dont care if my loud exhaust wakes people up, because its been done to me plenty of times and i just forget about it, instead of call the cops or complain like you probably would. Whats your address? i want to come wake you up at 3 am every morning just because i can

 

i dont want to be "stupid loud" i want to just be loud, yet deep. and this thread wouldnt suck if people would just answer my question instead of throwing out their opinions on what i should get. about 85 posts in this thread and probably 2 of them are actually answers to my question.

i have brushed everything off because no one is answering my question. all i want is a loud universal muffler. instead i get, no do this, do that, do this, blah blah blah. they cant just answer a simple question. i dont want anyone to understand me, i want them to ****ing answer me!

 

If you want answers than don't ask for opinions... Loudest exhaust is strictly lumped into the opinion category until you start talking decibels. You got plenty answers, even a couple item numbers. The fact of the matter is you are asking for things in the wrong forums (Lancer performance... try going to a ricer forum). And when people answer you, you decide to mix your arrogance with your ignorance to form a safety net to protect your bruised ego. The only possible reason why you want to hinder the potential gains from your exhaust to be heard is so when you run around town all the v8's can say "damn, that car is brutally loud he must be fast." but in all reality (and trust me I hang out with a lot of muscle heads) they are thinking how awesome it will be to pull up next to you and let you get the jump, then right before you hit 45 they'll blow right by you and than mock you with the "victory signal." You are creating a ricer out of a beautiful machine just so you may have the appearance of speed. Well I'll be brutally honest as I like to be and tell you now that the LED shift know, foot well glow, 200lbs system, and exhaust are all things the cavaliers and sunfires have been doing before you. Whether or not you still have these atrocities on your car is irrelevant because you keep these atrocities alive and well on your car domain profile. The other big clue to your rice hood is the fact the only performance mod you have listed is your SRI... Why spend time and money improving the show value of a car other than improving the performance of a car???

Furthermore your disrespect to your neighbors and fellow forum members is rather shocking. 2 citations and your father hasn't slapped you up side your head? If I came home bumping my car enough to make neighbors call the cops he would have put his foot through the subs. You have a lot of growing up to do young man. Maybe if you weren't so inconsiderate more people would be more considerate to offer advise. And saying things such as "this makes me want to be more inconsiderate," just proves how much of a child you really are. Grow up and buy your own car and maybe you'll be able to respect it than.

Go buy an autozone muffler. Get you that annoyingly loud sound and the performance your looking for.

 

Honestly, even with big boost he still needs a sufficient amount of back pressure or hes sucking/pushing more fuel out of the cylinder before it closes. If anything he'll need his cat more so if he does push a higher psi. Or he'll need to increase the full injected into the cylinder and even if he goes catless and increases fuel injection he'll still be pushing less hp/tq than a catted turbo lancer and getting more lag. If he wants to be rice tastic and not listen to people that know a thing or two than let him. He'll be the one mocked by his opponents. We used to have this guy come down to the strip with a 17sec hatch... Louder than the v8s and 3-6 seconds slower. He was the laughing stock of the tuners as well. If this kid wants to be the slow lawnmower than I say let him. Hopefully he'll grow out of this need for attention.
