The regular spec II muffler has a smaller inlet designed more to be used on an n/a vehicle. Im not entirely sure how that muffler would sound on an n/a car to be honest.

but if i use 2 of the turbo ones for a dual exhaust and use the right piping do you think i would lose power? people say that'll give me too much backpressure. some say if you use small piping it would be ok

Look in the quoted post above where I state that.

on the n/a lancer the extra weight of a dual exit will out weigh any benefits. Will most likely decrease performance

A dual exit won't decrease performance just because of the extra weight gain... You would have to have one hell of a heavy a** exhaust to do that.

when the gains are only a few horses, weight is a much bigger factor.

or actually
for the piping
you can get a smaller inch one
but when u exit
u exit at the biggest
maybe like 4 inch
it will make a very deep and growling sound
and when u step it, its freaking loud
i mean
its loud during idling
i got a friend that do that to his honda civic
but the sound is not really the best

Yes but a dual exit doesn't weigh enough to compromise any potential gain really. It all depends on the amount of piping, metal used, amount of welding needed, and of course the size of piping. If the piping is done right you could have an exhaust the weighs slightly more than the stock and flows a lot more freely. N/A or turbo doesn't matter, you still want to get the most airflow achievable WITHOUT annoying others...
It also depends on how much you want to pay if you aren't doing the welding and piping yourself. Bang for the buck I wouldn't say it is worth it on this car.

Back on topic

Loudest rice can I have ever seen are the Tsudo's. If you aren't willing to spend 350-400 on a good muffler like the HKS than it's obvious performance gains aren't your goal with this project.

^ true..i have the HKS on my lancer and i had it on my first car..and since then i dont buy anything but HKS exhausts..im soon to get an HKS setup on the evo. to me nothing compares...

but if your on a budget those Megan racing spec mufflers do sound good for the price..if i remember right the regular megan racing specs are like 137 and the Turbo ones are like 167..i was impressed with the sound of it.

and btw how the heck would the weight of the mufflers decrease performance might as well take 2 mufflers and put em in your back seat and say you decreased performance haha

That makes absolutely no sense.

C'mon guys, you need to stop posting this misinformation. This is all wrong. "Seriously guys, what the ****?"

You never ever want backpressure. In a motor with a turbo or without. Period. Say it with me.

In an NA motor, you want velocity, you do not want backpressure. Optimal velocity in the exhaust (NA motor) increases VE by the scavenging effect. Google it if you don't believe me.

With a turbo motor, the job of the exhaust is to spin the turbo and after it has done that, it is literally waste. Any restriction afterwards will lose power. 3" should suffice for anything under 500whp. For the power level I estimate you would hit, 2.5 should be good. Read corky bell if you don't believe me, Google that if you don't believe him.

On another note; The thread title in itself makes me cringe.

I'm not here to be a dick, but you guys are talking in a very condescending tone to the OP all while you yourselves have no idea what you are talking about.

Lets learn together and stop bashing.

Yes, you are correct about exhaust gas velocity. Most people just use the phrase "backpressure" to keep it simple (Yes I know they are different, but think about what me mean when we say it). Theoretically you could make more power with a tiny turbo and 4" exhaust, but when you aren't boosting your car is going to be so slow it won't be fun to drive it anywhere but the strip. I was just speaking for practicality, not to tell him how to make the most power

I had a lancer before and i think the loudest mufflers i heard (with a CAT) are a brand called TSUDO and u gotta get the N1 model, here is a vid on youtube and i believe this car has a cat im not sure, so without a cat probably be very loud.
