Heh, kinda like mine right below this one...
Anyway, as far as I can tell, general concensus is that the Ralli||Art is the best, folowed by (or tied with) K&N, then RMR. HKS is always good, but it looks sorta flimsy and nobody has any idea how good it is....but it is the least expensive of all of them.

i have a reactive cone foam filter on my 03 oz lancer its in my custome ram air kit and the one pluss about foam is you can just wash it out when it gets dirty without needing any re charging agents pluss this might sound sick but actually suck through a good foam filter and then through any other kind of filter you cant even tell your sucking through a foam filter.

oh and another thing i changed from k&n to a reactive foam filter it let so much more air in that i had to reprogram my apexi fuel management system to comppersate for the extra air. so in my opinion i have tried just about all the different kind of filters and the reactive foam is the best ive found yet plus its so eazy to clean.

My HKS SMF setup filters better than my drop in K&N panel did, and the SMF is the same oiled foam element as the HKS panel. Easy to tell since when I had my stock airbox I would make sure to lightly clean off the MAS honeycomby when I'd clean/re-oil my filter and now with my SMF, I can slide off the elbow and look at the honeycomb and less dust comes off when I replace the elements. The fact that the SMF element can trap dirt in a multidimensional area is a big plus if you ask me. When the filter needs replacement, you can see how the most dirt collects on the large pored surface of the element and then less and less as you work down, almost like the rings of a tree.

ok so that HKS SMF is drop in right... also i just heard that foam filters need alot of care, and they have to be replaced alot more that norm filters... oh plus if my car is stock and the foam is sucking in more air.. wouldnt that be too much. my car would be runnning lean right? (which isnt good, right?)

Just remember, again, my car has an intake kit, not just a panel, but the filtering medium is still the same: oil impregnated multi-density foam. With the HKS elements, you don't re-use, you just buy a new one every few thousand miles. I do it at about 5k, just a little bit after each oil change. As for running lean, no intake or panel is gonna force the stock ECU to do that as there's plenty of room for the ECU to adjust. The ECU loves running rich. Simply enough, with an intake, it's just going to give the car more gas to keep the A/F ratio at or near the stock one.
