The 4G63 motor drops right in without any issue whatsoever. It will also bake you cookies and plan your 401k for you once it's dropped in. People don't do this swap because they don't want their car poking around in their investments. Some people just don't like cookies...

First off, learn to take a fk'ing joke. And there's no need for name calling. Second, have you contributed anything of value to this community other than +1 on the members list? When you do, then come talk to me. Give some respect and you might earn some yourself.

BTW Senate does know what he is talking about , gaz003 look at senates post count he has prolly seen this question asked about 50 times or so , I have answered this question 3 times so far and im only at 250 posts...

the swap should run you about 2 months of research time and about 50-80 hours of wrench time figuring stuff out , if you can turn a wrench , and custom fabricate a few parts you can do it , if not , you can pay someone to do it for you...

all you need is the 4g63 and all its accesories , an evo ecu , your stock wiring will work with little mods , and you need an 00-05 eclipse 2.4 4g64 fwd transmission , your stock differential , 00-05 4g64 2.4 fwd eclipse flywheel and clutch , evo fuel pump or a walbro 255 , a custom downpipe needs to be crafted to mate the turbo the your stock exhaust , 1 custom made motor mount on the passenger side , a few other thing , once my 4g64 swapped lancer dies that is the next swap im doing and a writeup like my 4g64 swap write I did will follow... BTW my swap is still pulling strong and I have put 60k miles on it...

I wasn't trying to be a dick in my comment, just having a little fun. I'm sorry to the OP if he took any offense to my statement. But, yes, the 4G63 into a Lancer question comes up very, very frequently in the forum. It's something that at one point or another crosses a Lancer owner's mind.

Gabe - your answers to the 4G63 Lancer swap are always very descriptive and on point. Not to mention you've done the 4G64 swap so your street smarts on a 4G6x swap rival my book smarts. Would you mind doing a proper write up, perhaps titled, "so your thinking of dropping a 4G63 into your Lancer..." We can get it stickied and have a one stop shop for answers on this frequently asked question. Let me know if you need any help and I'll give you a hand.

has anyone considered the 4g63 swap from a 1st or 2nd gen talon/eclipse?
Im aware the engine orientation is reversed but aside from custom engine mount brackets, has anyone done any research into this?

i hope youre joking cuz evo tranny is allwheel drive, so after the tranny you will need a tcase, then a drive shaft, then a rear diff. If the 4g64 tranny work i will just keep it FWD.

i agree tho, use the 4g64 transmission. not the evo one unless your planning to turn your car into an all wheel drive beast and sink every penny nickel dime quarter and dollar into it

4g63 transmission options

evo tranny youll get awd but will spend a lot and have to do lots of modifications , not much of a reason to do this because evo's are coming down in price , they go for 12-18k in my area where as you will spend about 6k in parts and about 150-200 hours of labor to a shop , unless your handy with a torch , welder , and have lots of time...

eclipse tranny youll get fwd and will be pretty much as straight forward as the 4g64 swap is but cost yah a little bit more prolly in the nature of 1500-3000 in parts and 12-30 hours of wrenching / figuring out time

supra tranny youll get rwd the r154 tranny has a guy who makes g63/g64 bellhousings which are pretty much one in the same bolt patterns , but many modifications will need to be done , including tubing the front end , figuring out what to do about the steering situation , figuring out motor mount situation because you will be turning your engine longitudally , custom made intake manifold , custom made exhaust manifold , figuring out how to hang a ford 9 inch under the rear , figuring out the gas tank situation , doing a 4 link in the rear , doing a 5 lug conversion , 30r turbo , forged rods , forged pistons , evo 7 body kit , this car would be retarded awesome and a one off , everyone would say what the **** when they see you roasting the rear tires... -------Hey welcome back to the real world no one has 40k to spend on there lancer otherwise they wouldnt be driving a lancer-------
