next upgrade purchase lancer es 2010 cvt 2.0

i'm pretty new to modding cars, i never had a car worth fixing up. i used to have a ford explorer. lol, so a lancer was a nice fun first car for sure. i know its a 2.0 and a cvt so i'm not expecting to make this a super fast race car or anything. but i do want to improve its looks, and overall performance to personalize my car from others. i already have plans for some nice wheels+exhaust once i pay my car off in a few months.

for the exterior, for now, ive just plastidipped out the front chrome+bumper which came out really nice, and gave the car a much better look. as far as future cosmetics, i want to tint my back lights, would you guys recommend using a "tint" smoke-out spray? or getting a tint film applied? i want to eventually switch out my interior red leds for blue ones. anyone done this on their 2010?

i have 6000k hid lights on the way too, hopefully that installation goes well.

i have a k&n typhoon sri, which really gives it a more aggressive sound versus the stock "go-cart hum." the car also "breathes" and flows much better at higher speeds. where it seemed to "struggle" to climb before, it cruises to with no problem. so i was happy with that purchase. i'm looking for another upgrade that will noticeably increase performance and everyday driving experience.

i was looking around and saw these 2 other products, sprint booster, and the rrm timing control. the sprint booster has mixed reviews and seems to provide no actual gains, but makes accelerating around a bit more "light" on the gas pedal. and i really know nothing abotu the rrm timing control besides that a lot of people use it. lol. i dont know how it works. would either of these 2 upgrades work well with the 2.0 cvt lancer?

i really don't know what mods are worth it on the lancer es 2.0 cvt, and which arnt (headers/pulleys/polishing internals etc.). i'm not planning on dumping too much money into this car as i'm going to get an off-road used 4x4 ranger for fun in the dirt, and steadily save some $ for a nice evo in a year or so.

There really isnt a mixed reviews about the Sprintbooster, it does exactly what it says. People just quival over the price. in some cases people who do not have our cars and make an arm charge decision on weather or not if its worthy or not.

People dance all over the place, but generally it all comes down to the price. Because its already proven itself as an effective throttle controller mod. No one can or has disputed that.

Every mod I have tested for my Lancer 2.0L GTS. So far, sprintbooster still is the first mod I would put on my car. I have been running with it for about a year and half now. It literally drives like a different car.

cool, so a purchase of the sprintbooster will be done!

any opinions on the rrm piggyback for the cvt? I might be interested in that, would this increase throttle response as well thus making the sprint booster uneeded? or would the sprint booster work well with the piggyback?

I appreciate all opinions and insight.

thanks =)

For the ES. Go for the Rear Sway Bar, Front Strutbar, Rear Upper Strutbar and Coilovers (optional) or go for Stand Alone Springs.

^^this, also if you like to drive in a spirited fashion, it would be worth it to dish out the ~$30 and get camber bolts (ingalls). Some negative camber up front really does wonders or handling in corners, especially matched with a RSB and springs.

Hello all,

Its ironic this guy sounds just like me, except for the paying off my car soon and having all this free time and money. I plastidiped my front bumper, but i have a DE so the grill was already black. I'd like to improve acceleration and handling so i guess all the suggestions about the suspension are good but can any one explain this sprintbooster? does it actually make the car have more acceleration? and whats a good way to spend less the $1,000 on getting some more acceleration out of the car. I dont particularly car for good top speed just good acceleration is key.

Thanks for your time and help.

Use a tint spray. I've used VHT nightshades and it works wonderfully. You can also choose the % of tint this way by applying more/less coats
