ok so i got a 09 lancer ES... the car run nicely but when am driving and i let go of the gas the car gets all rough and it slows down pretty quick.. also when i hit the brakes and am getting close to stopping the car does this like push/skip motion... someone help...

CVT failure already??? it started to happen when i out the middle gas... should i be putting premium??? i dont think that would make it do that... like its feels like am stalling when i hit on the brakes....

 

are u still under warranty?

 

hopefully your under warranty.take it back asap..i doubt its gas.i run premium and i put 87 in one day and i didnt tell a difference in driving quality.

 

so i took it in today and found out that CVT transmissions all have this lil jerkin feeling when there bout to stop its just a small lil jerk but i wasnt liking it... but he said theres no cvt tranny tht doesnt do it especially when am 2k miles over to change tranny fuild!!! but he said i can still drive like that it doesnt matter til i get the mula to change it $170.... get paid friday!!!

 

0.o thats interesting, i have a CVT and i feel no jerking, or maybe its just so small i didnt notice it

thats true man, i called my dealer today for a busted driver side speaker and they ordered it and told me to come in next week to get it installed, i didnt give them any information, for all they know, i could not even have a mitsu and never even bought from them haha. o well

 

Sounds like the CVT tranny for sure... especially if its not throwing any CEL lights.

 

More than likely it's the CVT searching for an optimal ratio. Also sounds a little like a TPS issue, too. Take it to the dealership to at least get the problem documented. And running premium fuel is useless. Ultimately it will do more harm than good in a car that's rated for 87.
