Weird problem when raining...??
Alright, Yes i have searched, so if you cant help, dont read this thread. My car seems to have a really weird problem, It only happens when it is raining out. It seems like the car boggs down when i am going at about 2-3000 RPM's when i start off driving but once i get driving for about 30 seconds it goes away. I removed my splash guard and i have a full tb exhaust. Is there a chance that something could be getting wet and messing up or something? It sounds almost like there is something rubbing the tire but i am 100% sure there's nothing hitting the tire. Sounds like a grinding sounds right under my transmission/middle of the engine bay. But my tranny is fine. Only happens when it rains too!! Please help!!!
Man, I have been having this same exact problem only when it rains. It almost seems like i have a hole in my intercooler and somehow its sucking in water. The car sounds like a WRX during acceleration. The car definately feels boggy and when i hit small puddles on the right side of the car I hear this weird knocking sound but, then goes away when I let go the pedal for a few seconds. Again, this only happens when it rains.
The only time my car feels like it is bogged down is when I first crank it up in the morning. I thik that is normal though, it feels like a WRX KILLER after it warms up though, HEHEHE. I have a HKS intake and TBE and afew more mods. My splash guard is removed too. If I was having that problem I would take it to Mitsubishi and have it checked out.

Do a boost leak test, if you have a boost/vacuum leak somewhere, it could be sucking in water and unmetered air. Also make sure that the box & intake tube & snorkle is on tight.

If your MAF is getting wet you'll know it. Your CEL will come on and your car will start bucking and will not drive right. How do I know this? I sprayed down in the hood vent on accident one night while spraying off my car and got my HKS filter wet. Not knowing this, I continued to drive home and I guess some water got sucked into the intake and got the MAF wet. That is when the car started to buck at low speed and rpm. It eventually stopped by the time I got home.
