usually this means some of your lifters a gunked up and sticking. I have heard a trick to pour deisel fuel into your oil and run it just for a little while (you would need to search for the amount of fuel and the amount of time you run it for) and the deisel will dissolve the gunk clogging your lifter. But you MUST remeber to change yor oil filter and oil right away after that. Thats the lazy way, the right way is to pull the lifters out of the car and manually clean them with deisel cardefully keeping them right side up as to not get any air bubbles in the lifter. Or take it in, shops have machines that can run detergents through them still on the car to clean them out.

I've gone through the process of cleaning them manually once before with diesel on a different head but after taking the valve cover off and noticing the markings on the top of the albeit cover, I hit it with a small hammer to bend it further away from the rocker for more clearance and what do u know, 90% back to normal lol so to all with lifter/ tick noise, check that out to quiet Ur engine.

so ive been worried that i have bent valves and just cant tell whats going on.....i added oil and it started to sound even better. with the bigger cam i have, i have always been on -16 vacuum and on decel it goes to -19 or -20. ( still the same) i have only noticed my afrs are richer 13.6-14.4 instead of 14.2-14.8.....any reasons.....idles at normal rpm but sounds different but not always
