eclipse engine in U.S. lancer, true or false

so there I was, chillin... minding my own business in a local car enthusiast shop lol (a ricer's heaven btw lol) and i couldn't help but notice a fellow lancer owner, and the dude at the counter was like:

sales person: "oh did you know that you can swap your lancer's engine for an eclipse one? it'll fit in there..."

sucker uh... i mean... CUSTOMER lol: "no ****, really?"

sales person: "yeah, really "

me, as i stood on the side lines... i was thinking to myself... "no ****ing way... hmm... now i know what to post about when i get home" so... i waited till i got to work ahahha...

so is this true?

Not true, at least not without a LOT of money.

If it's happened, it hasn't been covered here. I call bull****.

lol 'wut eclipse engine' lol

more than likely the 4g63t.

i doubt u could fit the 3g's v6 in our little bay, but it MIGHT be possible...

if it is, maybe ill rip the engine out of my 95grandam (3.1 v6, 155hp) and ill drop it in my lancer...the grandams a high 15 1/4mi. stock and ways a bit more than my lancer does..so HEY maybe i'd hit mid 15's lol.

im sure u could swap the 4g63 into our engine bay with a lot of money...hey...use thee uh..."SEARCH" button i dont know how many times this has been discussed

Oh, I did forget one thing, then I'm closing this thread since it's an uber repost.

The Ecliipse motors are not oriented correctly to be put into the Lancer. The Lancer's bay and drivetrain require an Evolution IV+ 4g63.

From the looks of things a 3g's 4g64 may fit as well. I doubt anyone will confirm or deny this anytime soon. That one seems far less practical to me though unless you're building a hybrid 4g63 head w/ 4g64 block...in which case you clearly have too much money and creativity.

Anyway...that's pretty much that.
