Do a compression test. If one cylinder is low it will still start. If two are low it may not run but should still fire. If more than that are low then probably isn't gonna start .are you getting it to fire at all?
its not firing at all...but im not even sure if i'm doing all the timing marks correctly...i'll take pics tomorrow...
it did make a puff sound when i first tried starting it today but thats all i got out of it nothing else

the ****ty thing about this...i have the 4g93E head from LLT...i was just waiting to get all the parts from him before i started my project...didn't plan on doing this till after the holidays...this blows...now i still have to wait...spend more money to get the car running and then do the DOHC swap
How much money in parts do you still need? Get the compression test done and tell us the results. If its bad youwill have to pull the head to see if its just head damage. If so why not take the money you would have to spend to fix the stock head and put it towards the parts needed to finish the swap?
well i just did the compression test...im pretty sure i did it correctly...screw it on crank car and watch the gauge...did this for each cylinder and the gauge is reading 0 every time for all cylinders
if you screwed it into the spark plug hole nice and tight and cranked her, then you did it right...timing has to be correct though...
lol, ****ty though...pull the head...
