Can I replace my ecu to use a chip will it work?

So I've got a 2008 Lancer DE and bought a COBB programmer but didn't read the description fully and it only works for Evo X's and ralliarts if I was to buy and swap my ECU for a 2008 evo X would the chip work for my car, keepin in mind I don't have a turbo or intercooler but if I'm not flat foot shifting and such would my engine be in any danger, also I no that the programmed maps are mostly for small performance parts such as catbacks and air intakes which I have both of and I'm running on 91 octane. So let me no guys thanks

You'd be better off just flashing the ECU with a GSR rom.

If you want a fast Lancer don't buy a Lancer. Be rich and buy an EVO. If being rich is not an option then accept your very slow future. I've come to understand that my gts will never be fast and I'm OK with that. I think any NA lancer owner should accept the slow or trade up!
