Spark Plugs with Magnecor wires

I just ordered the Magnecor wires and was wondering which plugs are the best? They really don't recommend anything in particular so I thought some help from the good ol forum boyz was in order....

Denso or NGK iridiums. Look 'em up. Won't help you gain to much performance but hey, who's countin' horses.

Where did you order your wires from and how much? After shipping, tax, and the initial price I paid $100 even. Now if I just get the wires that are made for my car an not for a 2000 eclipse all will be well again.

I got the denso spark plugs....i have the magnecor wires...... they look nice... but when i took it to my uncles gas station... and the mechanics there looked at it and was like... there is no point in getting them... the power level transfering through those were not even the same... and the stock would perform better... but i guess they do look better then the stock... the mechanic that works there also said that i should change the thing u hook the plug wires too...(im not talking about the spark plug... and its sorta to put on... u have to push in from the end of the black end part... and push in slowly... or it wont stay... and u have to repeat doing this like a 100 times before it snuggly fits... hope this helps

How could stock perform better then upgraded 8.5mm's? If anything it would be that the power level transferring through stock would not work as well as upgraded wires.. But hell that would just be my guess. What size are the stock wires to begin with?

I'm not doubting what your saying yellow, I just find it somewhat hard to believe that the power could not be upped a little with bigger wires plus spark plugs.

actually the power was upped a lot... it was just not evenly distributed like the stock ones... i think the stock ones are 8mm.... and the magnecor or 8.5... the 8.5 seems so much bigger then stock... the mechanic said a cars performs better if all the cylinders get like the equal amount of power... im no mechanic... just a 17 yr old boy... hahaha... only know simple basic car stuff

You should get two plain spark plug "sleeves" for the two plugs that are fired directly off the coil, then a short sleeve/wire for the #3 plug that gets fired off the #2 coil, then a long sleeve/wire for the #1 plug that gets fired off the #4 coil. At least that's what I think you'd get...

EDIT: upon further review, it apparently just replaces the cables and sleeves that come off the coils (to the #1 and #3 plugs). Guess you'd have to replace the entire coil assembly to replace the sleeves that fire the #2 and #4 plugs.

Should've paid more attention when I replaced my plugs.

Well I do have good news.
They work fine.

Yeah P, I got the sleeves that hook into #1 and #4, then #2 and #3. They have a snug little fit. When starting my car there is no hesitation. The car is just much smoother. I'm happy now that I worked all the bugs out.

Thanks for the help, an baring with my stupidity.

Yeah the magnecor's are really big compared to the stock wires. The stock wires at most might be 5 - 5 1/2mm. There's no way those things are 8mm. If you get both together and compare you'll see how much of a difference there really is.

so any other opinions on the improvement? I'm not expecting anything maybe than 1 horse and a more responsive sound. Any body back it up or disprove it?

It's all good dude. Thanks for your little input about the wires too.

Pimpson:
It wasn't even really anything about any small gains of hp. It was moreless of the wires igniting a more direct spark therefore making it crank an ride more smoothly. No more ignition lag (I guess you could call it). I'm still using stock plugs too. I'll get some NGK's before long.

The wires are a good upgrade though if your wanting a little more responsive start-up an a smoother ride.

www.nipponpower.com is where I ordered mine from.

Richard Wong - Vice President.
He helped me out with some questions.
E-mail: sales@nipponpower.com - for any questions.

If anyone happens to order from there could you meantion importlancer off of lancerforums (or just my name chris, but throw importlancer in there) sent you.
Thanks

Wow, 100 bucks for them. Ouch! I have gotten mine off the net for 80 bucks w/ S&H.

Some mechanics don't know too much about Mitsu's propertary DIS tech stuff. It has both advantages and disadvantages inherited in the system. Also, why is it so expensive for just 2 plug wires? Magnecor has to pay Mitsu royalty for modding their propertary system.

The 4g93, 4g64 and the 4g94. All share the same DIS in size and system.

As for performance, don't expect HP/TQ figures. It will burn better (slightly better MPG), get the RPM right about 8-15% faster, and have a piece of mind about combustion whenever aiming for huge power increases in the future.
