Arrow LED for HVAC and instrument cluster confirmation

I am assuming that this info is accurate concerning the instrument cluster & HVAC for an 03 Lancer ES. More than likely this will apply to Lancers up to 2006/7. Can anyone on here confirm this?

I got mine from super bright led and I am very happy with how they turned out. They are very bright and look great. Now if your doing the HVAC lights your going to want to get the
Mini wedge bulbs (bulb # 74)
Part number 74-RHP3
HVAC takes two bulbs.

The reason i say the 74-RHP3 is due to them having 3 leds per unit giving you a very bright and wide pattern.

they can be found here towards the bottom portion of the page:
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b....html%23ipanel

Now if your wanting to to replace the lights that light up the instument cluster (speedo and tach) you will want to look at getting these NeoWedge series LED Lamp they should be the first ones one the page

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...nstrument.html

but if your wanting to do this you will need to get the red ones seeing is how the actually displays are not a clear piece and any other color will not look right. If you want them to be something other then red you will need a over lay for the cluster

Yeah that's semi accurate. I did my HVAC and instrument cluster, I did them all in blue. You wanna get the high power ones they make or you will barely see them. I believe I used the same bulbs for HVAC as I did for the cluster. If you change colors for the cluster, you just have to remove the filter paper where your mileage readout is. I had to use a razor blade to notch the neo wedge back a little so they would lock in place. I might still have a bulb I ordered laying around if you want me to verify the ones I ordered. I could post a pic too

It would be great if you can. It's weird that a few people have done this mod & can't really share accurate info. In the "How To" section there is some info but the correct sized bulb wasn't used. The bulbs were removed from the socket that they were purchased in and placed in the ones that connect to the cluster and HVAC.

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/i...r,NEO5,21,229:

these are the neo5 bulbs, they will work in the cluster and I'm 99% sure that I used the same bulbs in the HVAC. You want to get the High Power ones because the regular ones barely illuminate the cluster, I know because I ordered those 1st.

You will have to trim the part that locks it into the cluster though. You will see what I mean when you get them. You won't be able to screw it to lock in place. You will need to keep trimming each side so that the bulb can screw into place. So you might want to get an extra bulb or 2 just in case you mess up. Be careful that you don't take too much off because you want them to lock into place tight and secure. I had a loose one I ended up having to replace. But I have had these in my lancer for around 5yrs with no problem. I'll post a pic from my cell in a few minutes. If you need any advice when you get them, just ask. I wanna say I need 3 for the cluster and 2 for HVAC

Aw man that looks sweet. I wish I knew you could do this when I had my 03 Rally. Do you find that the A/C and rear vent buttons get stuck? I had that problem on mine.

I haven't had any problems with any of the HVAC at all. It was a pain in the *** to get to the bulbs to change those ones
