How often change Mobil 1 synthetic?

I'm running Mobil 1 5w30 full synthetic and was curious how often you guys who use Mobil 1 change your oil.
I'm also using Bosch filters. Good enough or go with Mobil 1 filter or other brand?

There has been much talk of this on the SE-R forums (my roommate drives a Spec-V, which is a much more needy motor than the Lancer). People with the Spec are changing oil every 7000-8000 miles, but changing oil filters every 4000 miles. They determined this by taking oil samples at 4000 and 8000 without doing oil change nor oil filter, then 8000 after changing the oil filter at 4000.

The oil at 4000 did not have significant deposits to require an oil change. After 8000 without changing filter, there were significant deposits which would require a change. At 8000 after changing the filter there were deposits, but inbetween that of 4000 miles, and at 8000 without changing the filter. So they determined the best way to go with change the filter at 4000 miles, then change both oil and filter at 8000 miles.

There's my input on the matter. I have thought about sending my oil in to have to tested, but I've been too busy getting my other car road worthy.

The wifes Diamonte 7500, my evo 3500. OEM filters. Stock Lancer should not require more frequent changes than the factor recomended for normal or severe. Synth oil resists break down nad has superior film strength than organics (stronger molecular bonds). Because I was used to changing oil every 2000 and oil and filter every 4000, I asked my oil wholesaler about oil break down with the Castrol gtx I was using in the wifes BMW (back in 1984). The response was that research indicates that gtx breaks down sometime after 7500 under typical usage. Mobile1 will outlast any organic so you make the call. BTW my son laughed at me about synth.s until he bought his clk55 AMG and was told moblie 1 only (ha ha dad was right).

With my other cars and according to the manufacturer's recommendations, I was so used to changing oil and filterat every 3,000 miles that is when I first did my first oil change(oil&filter) on my Lancer using Mobil1 Syn. This is the first time I went with synthetic oil.
I know some people that don't change their oil for over 10,000 miles up to 20,000 I guess you could get away with that if you don't care about how your car will perform in 5 -10 years.
Come to think of it, I never owned a car longer than a few years so I don't know why I bother changing oil so often. . I guess I take pride in all the cars I own no matter how short of a period of time I own them, so I take care of them while I have them.
Realizing now that Mitsubishi recommends changing oil and filter at 7,500 and that the Mobil1 company recommends the same, I will go by that schedule.
I had recently changed it at 10,000 miles with Mobil1 5W30 New Car synthetic and Mobil1 filter. I will change it in another 5,000 miles at 15,000 to get back on the manufacturer schedule and change it every 7,500 after that.
