id go with a shortram, only because it allows more airflow than a drop in filter.

Tested a K&N panel. Sort of on accident. But anyway. 0-60 test we did showed acceleration was, on average, the same. I sent a panel to Unifilter to have them make a high flow panel for us. They sent it back, saying that keeping a panel design, they would be hard pressed to better the flow of the stock piece. This is because you cannot increase the surface area.

yeah...im mean the drop in may last you til you die but you arent gonna notice any difference in the car...i bought one for my neon...and lets just say w/in a week i ordered the full intake system...and left the drop in set in my car for the next 2 years...if you just want a maintence free air filter get the drop in...just dont forget to clean it every 50k...ps i cleaned my K&N round every 10k bc they get frickin' nasty...

yeah either get an intake from rock...or do what i am doing...buy a k&n filter from auto zone for 30 bucks...and make you a custom one...gonna cost me around 40 bucks for everything but i havent decided if i am gonna do a short air...or go for the big one and run it done toward the ground through the engine...which is what i had in my neon and it worked great...but i like the short w/ the cf inlay rock sells...

where are you going to get the adapter for the airbox meter?? or if your not going to get an adapter, can you tell me how you solve the attachment problem, cause you can't just attach an autozone filter to that thing.

Adapter is really the hard part to find but it is also the part that makes or brakes the whole intake. Filter is a filter but MAS adapter is important for speeding up the air and making it denser......or not.

if you guys want to keep your panel filter this is what u do. its kinda ghetto but uhm you remove the front piece of the airbox and keep the back piece. and then you just secure the panel filter to whatever is left. keep the funnel too. it pretty much works the same but make sure you keep the panel filter secured or you are gonna have serious filteration problems...

I had a K&N panel filter before the intakes popped up and I really didn't notice the difference then I got the Injen CAI and I really noticed the difference. I have my K&N panel filter if any one wants it. Just have to pay for shipping to wherever you are.

I kind of went that route but used a dress up filter that was on my old 66 nova...the filter fit over the opening but doesnt sit too securely..it is good enough to tell if i want short ram...now i have to have short ram..i no longer want it..I Need It...

Happy as hellwith my Short RAM.
Really don't think CAI is much more.
Prolly say CAI gives a little more top end power but Short Ram give lil more mid range and torque!!
