You cannot convert to duel cams.

There are an improved single camshaft available from RPW and if you go to our website you fill find links to our USA dealers who can give you pricing.

why not? mirage guys have swaped the dohc heads onto their blocks. why can't lancers do the same?

never say never....david is right about people already have done it with the mirages....i believe that there is a 4g93 or a g92 that is DOHC...but if your already gonna go through that trouble then you might as well go with a g64 swap...still sohc but will give you that power you cant just achieve with simple bolt ons

The problem with the 64 series engine is that it's from a different family. It might not be as simple as just bolting the new head on. The reason the 93s can swap heads to dohc versions is that they stay in the same family (4g93 with whatever 4g9x series head that's dohc).

On top of that you'll need the ecu from whatever car you do the head swap with since the stock 4g94 ecu won't even be able to comprehend what a 2nd cam is doing.

I think its the 4G91 DOHC that will bolt right down to the 4G94. Do a search, its here somewhere.

honestly your not going to know ever until you A) measure the crap out of both heads or B) just go ahead and do it. i don't think anyone knows for sure. odds are that it won't work IMO because we have 2.0 and those are smaller. thats just my opinion though. i hope it does work. but i ask this.. why does it even matter if there is 1 cam or 2, in the end you have the same amount of lobes to work with. a tuned sohc and dohc have the same benifits as one another. dohc alone doesn't make it better, its when people tune them it does. people like dohc so they can retard exhaust timing more or less than intake timing. this same thing can be done with the tuning of the actual cam on a sohc making them the same thing. only difference is sohc has to get a new cam each time they want to change the timing of the intake/exhaust strokes. i don't think it will be worth converting all that just to gain maybe 1-2 hp becuase of fine tuning in the end. just my 2 cents. good luck if you try it.

oh yeah i have cam from rpw, stage 2. it freaking rocks and i feel confident when i say i believe i have the fastest NA AUTO on the forums BUT before i get killed i know i don't have a timeslip so i should shutup, just wait till the track is open mwa ha ha ha lol

peace

DOHC is not a night and day improvement over SOHC, the gains that you would be given using 2 cams are offset by more mechanical movement. replace the single cam that you have if your going to do that, RPW makes one, not sure about the details tho. if you want to catch up to your friends car, don't waste money on getting DOHC, just get a turbo.

what you mean i can answer that he is using an emanage??? i did have an safc and it sucked fat! the stage 2 is awsome, i have full intake and exhaust systems with valve springs as well. the car has a lumpy idle that i love and its redline is the same because the emanage doesn't change that at all. power is crazy anything past 2.5 grand, when racing it never drops below the main power area and the power is all the way to the redline with very little drop off.
