Transfer power from the coil to the plug to create a spark. These wires are usually insulated with several layers of insulation.

Usually they last quite a long time under normal conditions, if you live in winter climates and have constant heating and cooling they will not last as long.

Any durable wire will suffice, theres really no need to waste money on high performance wires and or plugs.

There is usually very little increase in HP from hi perf plugs/wires, only noticeable on dynos.

Save your $ for better ROI, like headers, exhaust intakes....turbo systems etc..

nycrazy - don't mind him - - i think u should look into getting some wires though - - may not give u extra HP, but overall makes the car run better i think - - smoother idle . . . better starting . . . . etc.

Not trying to bag on ya, but if you changed wires on an almost brand new car, you won't notice any difference whatsoever.

smoother idle? better starting? you serious bout that? You gotta think, if these wires are so good and can do all that with a simple wire change, wouldn't all newer cars come with them already?

Cost cutting measures abound everywhere in cars. I'm sure a thing like spark plug wires are just one of many.

I think s3's got a point though, it might run a little smoother if noticeable, but nothing too much. It's true a lot of cars cut down on material, but when you have something like BMW or Porsche, why wouldn't they have "high performance" plug wires? They have factory high performance tires, suspension, gearbox, etc. But they're too cheap to go high performance on plug wires? I really doubt that, but hey correct me if I'm wrong

Insist on OEM replacements if and when

you do go to a garage or something other than the dealer. If you install something that is proven to cause damage to your car, it will not be covered under warranty.
