BOMZ Short Ram Intake

I've been researching intakes for quite a while now, and I've decided to take the cheap ebay short ram path - on a side note I drive a Manual 2003 Lancer ES - but basically I was wondering if any of you had any knowledge of this intake (BOMZ Short Ram) shown here http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38634

At $35 shipped it seems like a steal, but I know nothing of it's reliability.. any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

I dunno, that 90 degree in it doesn't look to good. Probly not enough to hurt performance, but it will cause a little restriction in airflow

i'm not too worried about performance increase - i know my lancer won't ever be fast - i just want it to sound cool :] (not cool as in ricer fart pipe)

my dad let's me drive his 2003 svt cobra from time to time so i get my fair share of speed from that

i made the mistake of buyin that off ebay, 20 buck right? you get what you pay for, the MAF adapter and the filter work good. but the 45 degree piping wouldn't fit, the filter was about 1 inch too long and wouldn't sit behind the battery. just buy the ingen or AEM and save yourself the hassle. learn from my mistake.

Don't forget the RMR one with heatshield, the RRM one or the Buschur SRI.

hey i got the bomz short air intake off of ebay and it sounds loud and awesome, it only makes a difference when the throttle is open and after about 4000 rpm, and as far as it not fitting, you turn it down towards the battery and it fitts fine, mine points like that and after i bought a clamp and clamped it to the body it fit fine and is much louder than the stock, and maybe 5 hp if that im not sure but it does pick up just a tad better. enjoy.

i had the bomz SRI before i got my aem CAI and it worked and fit PERFECTLY. No complaints from me. I never had an issue with it .. well that is except for the fact that I re-cleaned the filter once and forgot to tighten it back on .. a while later i noticed it was just gone.

only reason i went to a cai from the bomz sri was cause i got it for a GREAT price.

I had a bomz on my old car and it works great.. Not one problem with it. However, it didn't come with the MAF adapter and I had to make my own.. That was a pain, but they sound great. Not too sure how well it kicked up my numbers, probably none, but you said you weren't worried about that.. Don't spend the 1xx or 2xx on a CAI or SRI if your not worried about performance, thats my two cents!
