You guys are looking a gift horse in the mouth. I WISH my Evo had a water pump recall. For those of you that don't know, a timing belt replacement is an in-depth maintenance service. It costs a significant amount of money, and it's normally best to replace your water pump at that time. On my old Eclipse, I went the cheap route and didn't replace the water pump at the 60K mile service. Well, here comes 80K miles and a leaking water pump, and I had to pay for the whole timing belt labor replacement all over again. I should have had it replaced while all the belts and everything were off.

My point is, go buy new belts(if you can't get them for free), and schedule a timing belt and water pump replacement on 's dime, and quitcherbichen for god's sake

EDIT: I just read the part where the guy re-read the recall letter oooops.

Don't complain about a free water pump. That stuff is labor intensive for the dealership.

I doubt you'll get it for free. When you get to the dealership, they'll look up the recall in the computer beofre they take your car back (at least they did when I went on Monday).
