Heres what i decided(with some of you guys' advice) to get a new 2003 Lancer OZ Rally. Tell me what you guys think...I want to get a Yellow Lancer OZ completely standard, and then add a evo spoiler, and go out and buy a new cd deck (because the one cd and then the 6 below is kind of dumb). Then buy the cold air intake or the ram air thing. Hows that sound to you guys?

What made you decide on the OZ over the ES? Cuz when I was making up my mind, there's no way I was gonna pay extra for parts that I would eventually replace with aftermarket stuff anyway. And take a look at how many people are selling their stock OZ body kits or OZ wheels or even their OZ spoiler.

Just some food for thought. I know there's plenty of differences that I'm not even touching on, but I'm on my way to bed. Just some food for thought.

 

what price range are you looking at? the lancer is nice, but lacks power which i think is a downfall. if your in the 15-20k range, look at the mazda6, mazda protege, mitsubishi eclipse, subaru impreza...those are all the Lancer competetors i can think of right now. If you are planning to do some racing, you might want to think twice before getting the lancer, unless you are willing to fork over thousands of dollars for turbo. But if you have already decided on lancer, yea ram air intake and stereo is a good start. good luck, and if you would like more help, PM me

 

i couldnt agree more with GHOSTRIDER!!!! why pay thousands more for the same car? people are selling there OZ stuff for like 300-400 bucks!!! and how much faster is the OZ? its not...that money is goin towards stuff youre prolly goin to replace anyways.......thats how i look @ it now that i went with the ES instead of the OZ!

 

how abt a 03 honda civic? haha....i noe how u guys hate them but hell.....it's a nice car with a gd engine......at least faster than the lancer.

 

Uhh haven't you been reading these forums. Get an Evo!!!. I'm sure money is an issue so I would consider buying one of the used bug eye wrx's that people are gonna try to get rid of once the evo or the facelifted sti comes out. just my 2 cents.

i got an OZ cuz its yellow and the interior is a lot better looking, and body kit and for me my mom bought me the OZ, if i got the ES then i would have come up with money for the body kit myself

 

sounds like a plan! i did pretty much the same thing(except i didnt know jack-squat about cars when i got my lancer). if i woulda known i would have purchased an es-but the yellow got me i'd say go for it and the intake depends on whether or not you get a automatic or stick. certain intakes only work on manuals(like the aem cai and injen cai). then, i'd pruchase an exhaust at the same time as intake

 

I got an OZ cuz I deffintly liked the extra couple inches around the exterior body and the spoiler...I also liked the inside better, plus I got leather, how can ya not be happy...for me, since i am only 19 i dont have the cash to be puttin into the looks of my car, so i felt i had to get the oz with some already done features...all i had to get was my wheels, a new grill, some springs and im set for now...but the big big big downfall is that they are so very slow. if ya want speed ya should keep lookin around. i couldnt quite afford my S4 so i had to deal with this

 

Well today i went to and my dad got to test drive it, well i did too but the salesman didn't know.(i just got my permit)
I like how it handles and its got decent acceleration, and i can see over the damn hood. (Its not that im small its that I've been driving a 2k3 Tiburon GT)

I saw one lancer yellow, that had that had a Kamanari bodykit and leather seats, but the only prob was it was an auto

They said they are rare and wouldn't have a manual for a few weeks, so im gonna go to another dealer probably next weekend

The mazda 6 is pretty nice. i've actually test driven it. what's the difference between a cold air-intake and ram intake? i also hear about some suction intakes too.
