I heard something about Mitsubishi improving the Lancer's performance and such...like 160 HP, etc.

yes there will be a lancer made to be between the oz and the evo. it is gettin new motor. there is a thread on this if you do some research. but i think it was a 2.4

 

Well, since is going after Subaru, it would make sense to have a car that can beat their Impreza RS as well. We will know soon!

The eclipse appeals to a different group of people... I see the lancer as more of a younger person's car... I notice mostly middle-age people driving Eclipses.

 

Yup it would take some sales from the Eclipse...but no matter what, the Eclipse will still be around as Mitsubishi's 2 door sports car. It'll probably still have some sales to those people looking for 2 door coupes. It's all up to the buyer, I'm sure Mitsubishi has already planned that out..we will have to just wait and see.
