RDDesigns Suspension Set
it's the 'RS' bar, connects across the rear of the trunk with the bolts that hold the rear bumper on, and as for cutting the trunk liner, it's really easy, you just start a little smaller than what you actually need and cut little pieces out till it fits perfect

Rob's bar's cannot be beaten in bang for your buck quality... They look good while providing a great improvement on the stock lancer's handling capability, I love them! However, there is always room for some alternate information... Rob from Road///Race Motorsports and I did a comparison of both road race's and PDX's K-Bar and Rear Strut bar (The tie bars were almost exactly the same, and road///race doesn't offer a RS bar at the moment so we only compared the other bars) at a SCLC meet, and came up with the following results: First off, we both agree that the materials and welding on road race's bars are of much higher quality, all welds are TIG and of a very professional quality. Rob had an instresting discovery when we looked at how deep the holes that support the strut bolts, and discovered a weld line inside of the cylandrical tubing used for the K-bar, telling us that this wasn't the greatest quality of material used for connecting the bar to the strut tower. The shape of PDX's K-bar and rear strut bar are at a 90* angle to the supports for the bar, which is not the best design for maximum absorbtion of suspension flex, thereby not allowing for the full potential a strut bar can have. Road-Race's bar's flare out to about a 125* angle from it's supports to offer more absorbtion of flex. By no means do these diffrences make a HUGE diffrence in how these bars will help your car perform, actually to tell you the truth most all of you in the market for these bars would probably not even notice any diffrence in driving a car with each of the bars, the only way you would ever tell a diffrence is if you were to really be pushing your car, say on a track or auto-x course. Basically, I still support PDX's equiptment, and for most of us, his bars are the way to go, espically at the price, but my real point is that road///race does have a reason for charging what it does, in that their products are proven to outperform, and are of very high quality, although in no way does that make thier bar perfect either, there's always room for improvement, but if you are planning on really pushing your car, and you ARE worried about that .5 sec faster around the track, you might wanna give Road///Race a call, but for 99% of lancer owners, PDXRalliart has a great quality product that will more than meet your handling needs for your lancer. *Rob I hope you take this just as constructive criticism, and not as me dissing on your products, you do a great job on your bars don't let anyone tell you any diffrent.* Have fun guys.

wow guy, you basically said rrms are a little better but more expensive, and then repeated a bunch of stuff. thanks for the info, we know you get what you pay for most of the time.
Yea I probably could have worded that down a little, but I think I got my point across. There are positives and negatives for everything and once again the saying you get what you pay for comes to mind in this case.

anywho, you also need to keep in mind where you are putting the bars: 1 inside the engine bay away from heat and moisture, 2 in the trunk, and 1 linking rear suspension (tie bar). none of them are in any precarious positions exposed to alot of moisture or heat, so i would think they are good to go for 10 years before you have to worry about rust.
