i walk into midas.... i went their cuz of george forman (is that even the right place), and i am looking for a nice magnaflow muffler and custom piping... immediately i have to wait 10 mins before the redneck comes and helps me.... so im waiting and the guy finally comes, with his leathe beltwith a texas buckle on it and a shaved head... im like ok.... he proceeds to start to play solitare....so I have to sqay hi... then hes like what do you need, im like a want a magnaflow muffler and some custom piping... hes like you want a catback i m like yes...

then the guy proceeds to call his supplier and he gives tells my dad like an ******* that its gonna be REALLY loud... im like actually "its not that loud i have friends who have this muffler..." he looks at me and starts talking to his "supplier" he finally comes back with a quote he says... "magnaflow is 4 weeks away from releasing it... and it will be about 1300... plus about 120 for install... "

.................................................. ...................i look at him... i look at my dad... i stare... i say.....

"u bumbling fool, their already in production, and there four hundred bucks... im like i wanted custom piping anyways and i dint want a factory made catback..."

at this point he is like dazed and is speachless, im like "wtf 1300, ur actually trying to sell me a 1300 magnaflow exhaust...

i say "how stupid do u think i am"

i walk out laughing as loud as possible...

sorry for the long story but MIDAS SUCKS! ahahah. moving on now

I had a similar experience the first time I went to a "custom" exhaust shop back home.. I started talking about custom work (after waiting like half an hour while this guy BS'd on the phone), the dude says, "uh huh.." pulls out a catalog, and points to a very-much inflated price on the Magnaflow catback, and says, "Thats about all we could do for ya, plus install. And it'd take a week to order."

I look to my left.. I see a dude bending custom pipes on the floor.
I look to my right.. I see another guy welding pipes together under a car.
I look behind me.. and walk straight out the door.

 

man, i went to a performance exhaust shop and they gave me the same runaround, wanting to order stuff instead of making it (even when i asked for custom piping)

so i just found performance peddler and got my magnaflow catback for super cheap!

 

Order it online. It's a 15 minute install with a jack and some jack stands, and a socket set for tools.

At most you'll want a hammer and some PB Blaster too because the bolts can rust on sometimes...but in LA you probably won't have much of that.

The exhaust shop near me isn't a national chain, they are privately owned and they kick ***. They sell every kind of muffler, mandrel bend any custom piping you could want (even intercooler charge piping!). And they are cheap! My friend got custom cat-back 2.5" piping with dual mufflers (purchased separately) for $250. Sounds awesome too. That's where I got my custom piping done. I was very happy.
