having some RPM trouble
having some RPM trouble
so i will say this to start. i am not sure what terminology to use exactly but i will try.
so the other day we were racing around in the car, peeling out hi rpm shifts and so on. ever since then it there seems to be a problem with the way the car climbs the RPM band.
first and second gear now climb super fast and the other gears seem to be at a higher RPM at different speeds then they ever used to be.
also, when i attempt to accelerate the RPMs rev really high really fast (maybe up to 4500 rpm) then stick there for a moment then drop down by about 1000 rpm and then start climbing again. a way to get an idea is like when you punch it on an automatic car the way it climbs and doesnt seem like it wants to shift then suddenly does and drops the rpm super fast.
now we have a manual transmission so i dont know what to do? doesnt the car have some sort of learning computer that adjusts depending on driving style? is this what could have happened. all the hotrodding got it somehow confused? is there a way to reset this?
thanks for the help guys.

Personnaly I don't think it's your clutch. I'd say you're hitting flat spots in your fuel curve. Reset your Ecu and see what happens. If you want to play around with your A/F ratio a bit try playing with the screw that's under the Maf. It will only allow you to lean or enrich you mixture by very little but it seemed to help on my car.
At first I got the screw to be flat with the inside of the maf but that made my plugs show signs of very lean mixture and I was getting some weird acceleration issues like you're telling here. So last week I got it in to maybe 1/4 inside and my powerband is way smoother than it was before.

ok so i reset the ecu and no change. second gear ratio seems like it doesnt even exist. i shift to second at about 3500-4000 rpm and it drops maybe 500 rpm before its back up to 4000 and third still gives me the hesitation in the rpm range when i accelerate. if you guys dont have any other ideas i guess i will be taking it down to mitsubishi to get diagnosed and get reamed by the no warrenty deal if it is a problem we cant fix...oh why oh why do the car gods hate me so?

Damn, you trusted me with it? I never got it.
What a gyp. If it's working it's working, but there may be a big failure at some point. It'd not like your engine will blow up, but you may be stranded if the clutch goes completely one day.
