EVO VII DRIVE
I had a drive tonight in a yellow lancer evolution vii from an austrian team that is here inMonte carlo for the rally.
It was the first road version I saw in real, and in yellow it looks really nice.
The interior is reallydifferent from the evo vi and it is more similar to an honda, the recaros are nicer than the ones of the evo vi but are really tight, so if you are more than 80kg you would prefer something larger.
The engine revving is smoother than the evo v, but as mine is not standard it feels slower at higher revs.
I did not really try the acd system, but at normal high speed use,the front is smooth and will not understeer, and the chassis ir really stiff.
The suspension is not bad, but I'm used to proflex gr.n shocks so I can't compare.
It will probably be a better evo for the american market.

I know what you mean Michael, I'm trying hard to like it but I just don't!
It's the sort of car that attracts Ex scooby owners because it's not in your face and aggresive like the 5 & 6. In fact the MLR seems to be full of Ex Scooby owners nowdays that get offended when you rip into them!
"Oh its not like this on Scoobynet" they say all hurt

Hehehe, I know what you mean Clive. I do have a look into it every now and then
But it has to be said, the standard has declined considerably by "standard" people taking over as opposed to "tuned" people, if you know what I mean. Well, it's bound to happen as the Evo model series has become more mainstream, really....

Ah and one more thing: I think it's quite funny to see that people that obviously have never pushed the throttle in anger have opinions about tuning and the car's handling. It's even funnier that people believe them cause they have a high membership status
I won't mention any names but you know who I'm talking about....
