that's what i was saying. on a regular lancer, we can't get going fast enough for that to make a difference.

WTF 100mph = 100mph no matter what kind of car you're driving

nowhere near that high. MAYBE a tenth, but probably a lot less than that.

but what i'm saying is you're not going to get to 100mph THAT much faster without a wing.

in a regular lancer its gonna take a long time either way

that was my point from the beginning. a wing isn't going to slow us down cuz we're already slow. i would agree that it would help with stability though at higher speeds.

let me let you in on a secret, the reason the RS is faster.. IS BECAUSE IT IS LIGHTER BY *I FORGET EXACT NUMBERS* YOU IDIOT, NOT B/C OF THE WING... IT DOES CREATE DRAG, YOU ARE CORRECT THERE, BUT UNLESS YOU ARE DRIVING ABOVE 100 ( OR SO ) THE WING IS VIRTUALLY USELESS... In this case it does keep the non-evo lancers more stable at higher speeds... seeing the wing is less than 10 lbs ( for the cf versions ) the "additional weight" makes no sense...

The wing yes if removed would make the evo faster, but that is b/c your taking downforce away. Downforce slows speed, but increases cornering... which is why the AWD "rally inspired" EVOs have a big wing is for the "better cornering".

So, did u get all ur info from your sentra?!!? let me guess u went to the track with the evo wing, did a run... and then one with out... listen you can't compare to completly different trims of the Evo. You would need to compare an RS to an RS with the Spoiler... The RS is stripped of the soundening material...and is basically all manual. windows, locks, everything... So that is why the RS is faster than the GSR, has nothing to do with the wing... ( maybe a very tiny bit ) but not as much as the weight difference...

Curb Weight (lbs.) [with Sunroof]: 3197 3263 [3321] 3285

That's RS, VIII, MR respectively. The Bracketed number is for the VIII as well.

i had my high wing for over a year, love it to death, and tho i have decided to take a different path with my car now, i have to write this review, which i have been meaning to do for awhile now.

i took off my wing about a month ago to see how i would like the look fo the car, well i liked it too much, the wing is sexy on a lancer, but it was just time for me to go a different way.

i used to be able to take my car to 80+ on the freeway on a daily basis and the car would be fine, didnt feel loose at all

after i took the wing off, i didnt notice it immediately cus most of my driving is on the streets, but not i DO feel that the car is a little looser at 70+, and the funny thing is that my GF noticed it too. its not to the point where the car is undrivable at 70+, just that it felt a lot better with the wing on.

just thought i would post it....

Nice write up rigo.

A lil info, Me and rigo where holding both the oem high wing and the ralliart spoiler and felt the weight almost the exact same. With the high wing I feel no drag as she flows much better at high speeds and she feels more stable on quick corner entries.

I think the evo wing is the biggest the lancer can realistically use, those double decker drag wings you see on civics are just retarded, all they do is add wind resistance. For me personally I'll be happy when I get the RRM CF Ralliart spoiler, on a FWD I don't really see the point in having a wing designed for a car with double the horsepower, AWD and the ability to be used as a real track attacker, but that's just my opinion, and I'm just not a fan of the whole show aspect.
