Less leverage that way but it is less likely to spin the motor over if you do it that way.

it's also a lot cheaper for the guys who don't own a large enough set of 1/2inch sockets for their impact gun. my gun is rated at 600+ ft lbs i believe so it came off pretty easily that way.

^^ Hey, I got mine on without using an air gun. I just bought a 24" breaker bar and with me standing on the brake in 5th gear and jacking up the whole right side of the car like another foot, otter (Rob) broke it free after about 5 seconds. Of course I loosened it before him and we also sprayed it a bunch with the penetrating oil. So I can testify to you that it can be done with an air gun

Best case - you feel the engine rev up faster
Worst case - you don't feel anything

And that's why - there's nothing bad that can happen. Just less money in your wallet.

Personally, I didn't notice the difference when I put one on my RS.
