STI spotted

Im getting kinda worried about the EVO since i saw a subaru wrx sti today in white with gold rims and it was a wagon....I really dont know what it means but ive now seen both the STI and EVO on the streets and subaru hasnt even anounced the STI coming to america in the first place. This siting was in Laguna beach california and the evo spotting was in Irvine california.

Whould we be worried or happy or what?

Is it a Sti VII? 'Coz I made a trip to Lake Placid, NY when I was based in Boston for a while last year and I saw a couple of Sti's there with Gold Alloys so what you may have seen could well be an older STi Wagon (could be a private import?).

what if someone decided to make a WRX into a STi?

u know add in a STi emblem, get the gold rims, maybe even get the headlights of an STi.. (saw someone who did that) u know RICE it out.. so yeah..

a evo is easier to spot cuz it doesnt look like the same as the american lancer

no

I am almost positive this was a brand new STI because it had every clear stiu sticker you can buy, the headlits of the STI and it was a wagon without anything else added like window tint or lowering. It was a genuine new STI and i think it looks extremely nice...even wagon.

Very easy indeed to make a regular USDM WRX look like a new age STi. Big brakes, 17" rims, STi headlights, badges are all garnishes that can be swapped/added rather easily. Look for the 6 speed transmission, that will tell the tale.
