Claudius, I know what you mean. I have lived in Paris for the most part of my life (tu parles francais?), and always wondered about those POS SUVs and trucks.
And in regards to the 5mph test, I have an answer for you: Sweden has almost the exact restrictions as the US, and also has that upgraded (5mph v/s 2.5mph) bumper specs.
Claudius and Simon, thanks for your support :-) Simon, do you already own that Evo7 eXtreme? How's that beast?

For all the others: that means I speak French just like MAXI.

Yes, I really do own a 7 Extremeand its great. 340bhp and 350 ft/lbs of torque, better suspension (not in Claudius league) and a few other tweaks. 0-60 in 4.2 seconds but it is the in gear accelleration that is really stunning. 30-50 and 50-70 for instance is faster than a Porsche 911 GT2! And Ralliart UK give it a 3 year, unlimited milage warranty
Only problem is the tuning bug has got me and as soon as funds permit I will do some engine work to take it to about 370bhp and 400 ft/lbs of torque, upgrade the brakes and improve the suspension. Now, all I need is some money ........
I use it as an everyday car and it never stops amazing me. Most fun car I have ever owned.

Stop making people's mouths water with your slow POS car

I didnt understand a something you said there: engine work to get it to 370 bhp and torque increase?! As far as I know your car has upgraded internals, right? Just up the boost!

What subject? There were 3 TMEs for sale and they're gone.
Do you want to discuss whether or not EI will actually succeed in legalizing them? I would assume they will and talk **** once they have failed.
There are other off suject threads that are much worse than going from Evo to Evo engine mods!!

EVO 7 importation
Even though people can get the 02 EVO 7 into CA, you won't be able to drive it. Cars not less than 2 years old can not currently be offered for sale in California. You won't be able to register it. For more information regarding this please read http://www.arb.ca.gov/html/lawsregs.htm. If the vehicle is for California , then after the DOT and EPA paperwork is cleared , the vehicle goes to the California referee center for California certification. After the vehicle is tested , then the vehicle once again goes into a hold - 5 days for California.
Ok if you are not in CA, then you wil be hit with the next law because the Evo 7 is not the the vehicle listing that allows importation since it has not been crash tested. The Skyline is because Motorex did the crash testing and DOT requirements. So there is no way EVO 7 will clear customs because you have to show paperwork showing the DOT conversion that has been done.
Better to wait for the official Evo 7 to come out.
