a lot of people on here seem to go with 2.25 or 2.5 custom piping ... and yes it will also work for turbos!!!

NOOB Question
So what type of header would you recommend or would be best for my 02 OZ Rally If......
1) I have a magnaflow cat back, and magna flow cat converter?
2) If I am not planning to go turbo, but I do want it louder (louder is better) would I still feel performance if I go 2.5" piping?
3) If I have the Cat and a smog legal header in the state of Schwarzenegger land, do you think I would be legal when it comes time for a smog check?
Louder is better!

I'm assuming I'm screwed when it comes to smog, and I would need to bolt the stock cat's back on when smog time comes (I'm in Cali), thank god I kept them. I have the KamiKaze header & downpipe, and then MagnaFlow Hi-Flow Cat and MagnaFlow CatBack exhaust. Why does everyone seem to get axle back?

In CALI, you'll fail with pretty much everything. Unless you have CARB stickers to show the officer/smog tester. So you'd wanna go back to stock. And pray you don't get pulled over.
As for "why does everyone seem to get an axleback?", I did because I paid $75 shipped for it. In my experience, most people seem to have catbacks...

I'm not due for a smog for a while, since my car is a 2003. As for exhaust loudness, my CatBack exhaust and HighFlow Cat were both recently installed, and the sound is pretty loud, almost "ricey". I know that the header and DP contribute to the noise. So if I wanted to tone it down, should I just order a resonator or did my CatBack exhaust come with one and its just not big enough? I've searched thru many threads, never got a clear answer. I know that a silencer has to be custom made and put into the muffler. So would a resonator purchase be the logical & cheap way to go? Sorry I'm slightly confused.. for the first time.

They changed smog regulations recently... at least in Cali. I think its mainly on new cars. My sister has a 2001 Lexus, and still has not smog'd it or received notice to smog. So I'm guessing they increased it to 5 or 6 yrs now. Which I can deal with, good thing is, all the parts that would have to be changed are bolt-on.
