I think its better to have a car who has more power beneath the hood rather than trying to have power by body mods... thats just not right!

sorry but I just can't take what you've said about N/A Lancers
I'm really sorry, I love the lancer to but I have come to face the facts as well. Lancers just dont get the power gains from mods that other cars do for the same price or cheaper.

Basically, you wont be able to beat any cars that actually want to race. the ones you can beat are the ones that wont race you. the lancer is a horrible money pit. Just for ***** and giggles i'm gonna estimate all NA mods and prices (all store bought, not custom made):
PB ECU-$459 (software added with wideband-add about $330 to ECU)
Intake-$175
Throttle Body-$299
Fuel Rail (only for 02-03)-$89
Intake Manifold-$369
Pistons-$700
Pauter Rods-$800
Port & Polish Head-$1199
Crank Pulley-$99
Cam Gear-$99
Camshaft-$500
Header-$349
Catback-$430 (custom Header back I was quoted $110 with my magnaflow muffler and a high flow cat)

Total is at least $5888, and this doesnt include any of you upgraded fuel injectors, spark plugs, brakes, clutch components, suspension, looks, or even installation (which is usually more than the part itself). And I doubt that entire combo listed wont get you anywhere near 250 hp. I'd say roughly low 200s.
Good luck, keep us updated.
To be able to take a TC the ABOVE is what you'll have to do. Maybe not all the mods, but close.

Whos' pissed off? Disappointed might be a better word. Its hard to keep up a rep that is the Evolution. Impossible with what they gave us in the 4g94. a SOHC engine with no (V, Eco, MIV)"TEC". Nothing swappable.

with the mods I have I notice a pretty significant difference in the way the car drives.... I have 2 oz's 1 is compleatly stock and the other is modded with everything that is in the list in my signiture.... there is a HUGE difference between the 2 its no dragster by any means but respectable IMO

Part of it is a turbo is a one shot mod, while with NA you can slowly build it up. If I hadn't spent a dime on my car, no short shifter, grill, nothing, I could just now be buying a turbo. That would mean two/three years of a bone stock car. Some people like to slowly build a car and enjoy it every step of the way. The plus side is if you do all the NA mods shy of cams and pistons you can add a turbo and be very fast.

yea just following the listing of what everyone else has listed and youll be able to beat the tc. just remeber the fact that your car is an econobox not a race car. I love my car and i know what it is capable of. now after 2 yrs of owning the lancer and also saving up im about ready to buy an evo 8. gl on modding.

For cams and cam gear, go to RPW. www.rpw.com.au and go to the lancer part. They ship from australia, so you can also click on their site on Distributor List and find a site of someone here in the states to buy it from.
