How reliable are the lancers?

My car has 36k on it I paid 18,000 for it. It has cost me $.50 a mile.
I had a 1991 Mazda MX6 I put 20k on it and paid 1,000 for it costing me $.05 a mile.
Beaters rule.

And if I get run over by a speeding train today I would be screwed too

Its not about still being in love with it. I mean sure I would like to have something else, right now, but I just don't want a huge car payment so, as I said, I am running this bi!ch till it dies and I will buy something else then. or buy a hooptee and stick this in the garage till I can afford a turbo. And I don't need the extremely accurate buttdyno to tell me I have more than 103hp

The manufacturer tells you the HP produced by the engine, not the HP at the wheels, or WHP, which according to Buscher Racing was something like 108HP. With Breathing mods it jumps all the way up to like 113HP. Yeah, they require a lot of moding and money to get anything out of it. Look at the dyno'd Lancer thread, the highly modified NA guys are getting around 130HP.

thats great! Its kind of what I'm saying, Its not like after 7 years, which I'm already half of the way through, and 85,000 miles I might as well push my car off the pier into Lake Erie. Blah, Blah, Blah It doesn't matter. in a few years when its just about paid off and I sell it to some kid for $2500 we'll talk.
So what's the problem here?
You'll probably still be able to get 4 or 5 grand for your car if it's well maintained. There's alot of late 90 "Hondas" still selling for a few grand. So I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get some good money when you decide to part-out. Hey, the best feeling in the world is to know that you own something and don't have to pay for it! It sucks getting an expensive *** car and having to dish our hundreds of freaking dollars a month just to be able and say it's yours! I'm honestly tired of that **** and my payments are over in a few months.
