4g64 swap

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but does anyone know where I can get official documentation that a 2003 4g64 galant engine will bolt into a 97+ Mirage/Lancer? Any Mitsu techs out there? I really need this info so I can do my swap. I just need something from an official place that does does swaps that states that the 4g64 will fit in the mirage/lancer without custom fabrication. please help me out.

Moving to Lancer General.

As for an official place that will verify the swap - good ****ing luck. There are like 2 swapped Lancers in existence, IIRC.

There is only 1 5g mirage w/ a G64 swap (either post 99 Galant or +00 3g eclipse). The modern G64 does have an immobilizer (biggest headache). I will have to look through my past notes from SHmirage, who lives in Ft Lauderdale . . . last time talking to him around 00 or 02. Last person to talk to SH was AQ, who drives a RA now.

If I remember correctly, 3 engine mounts are correct but the tranny mount is a bit off (can't remember how much). The starter on the G64 is on or near the tranny, not on the engine like the G93.

Amongst the 4g Mirage, 3-4 exist in the US using Pre-99 Galants or the 2g eclipse drop-top.

anyone know of any shops that can do this swap? I contacted RRE and they said they couldn't do the swap but they know about it.

4g64 out of a dodge stratus . . . IF so, Dodge may have changed the mounts a bit to create their own version. It would explain changing 2 motor mounts. Yes, I forgot about the bellhousing.

Example: Mitsu gave Chrysler the bluepints for the 6g72, but Chrysler made their version of the same motor in their classic minivans.

Example 2: the Dodge Avenger, their 6 banger is awfully close in design to the 6g72.

BTW: I don't reccomend straying into Chrysler products like those 2gNT guys wanting to swap their 420a to a G63T . . . wiring headaches, not worth the effort.

correction: It was actually Neon guys wanting to upgrade their 420a to a 2.4l from the PT cruiser than ever wanting to tangle with a G64 from Mitsu.
